The next moment.
A heavy, powerful fist slammed down fiercely.
But it didn't hit Ethan's face, it hit the table.
The iron interrogation table was directly dented by the punch, yet Lewis was unharmed and instead burst into laughter.
"Do you think I'm a fool? Pretty boy, I'm not going to do anything to you. I'm just playing with you. So many media took photos when you came in. If I hurt you, wouldn't I be finished?"
"Save it, just stay here peacefully and wait for your death. Tell me what you want to eat. I'm from Fernando County, where there's a custom to treat those about to die well."
"You will hit me."
But Ethan just stared at him and said so.
"What the hell are you doing? Do you think you're...?"
Lewis leaned closer to Ethan and enunciated an extremely complex word.
Ethan didn't understand; he guessed it might be Lewis's real name.
Because there was a forceful command power surging in Lewis's previous words.
"You're nothing but a maggot in the gutter..."
"Yes, I'm just a maggot in the gutter, but I live in an estate in the eastern suburbs and drive the latest model Klaus Long Spear. The things I have, you can never own in your lifetime. Don't you feel angry? Don't you want to teach a maggot like me a harsh lesson?"
"How funny, little boy. The use of command and rules is a power only for those who are straightforward like me. Let me teach you that a lowlife crawling out of the black mud like you is only fit to use some vulgar muscles..."
Lewis sat back carelessly, his voice full of sarcasm.
However, just as he sat down, he noticed that one of his subordinates couldn't help but place a hand on his sidearm.
The subordinate on the other side couldn't help but clench his fists and stand up.
"What are you doing, have you gone mad? Sit down!"
Lewis sensed something was wrong, and even his own heart seemed to be fluctuating.
The subordinate who was shouted at seemed to have woken up, one removed his hand, and the other was getting ready to sit down.
"Sit down, that's right, because you don't dare. Even though deep down you really want to teach me a lesson, beat me until I'm bloody and laugh out loud, just like the way you treat those other poor souls, recklessly enjoying that bit of pathetic power. But you don't dare because you can't bear the outcome. You're afraid of me..."
"Who's afraid of you!?"
The subordinate who was about to sit down stood up again, and the other subordinate once again reached for his gun.
"Gary, sit down, and Sonny, take your hand off that damn gun!" This time, Lewis got serious, gritting his teeth and hissing, his pupils shrinking to pinpoints, emitting a cold, stern aura all over.
"And you, Lewis, you're afraid of me too." Ethan, on the other hand, relaxed even more. He crossed his arms over his chest and spoke slowly, "You've always claimed you want to challenge me but never dared to actually take action because you're afraid you won't be my opponent. You're afraid you'll lose miserably to a maggot you look down on."
"You..."
"Shut up!!!"
Lewis, who was sitting and releasing some sort of power, suddenly became furious and lunged forward, crossing the interrogation table and pinning Ethan along with the chair to the ground, raising his fist high.
"It's right to get mad. A straightforward person like you should have a temper. You should crush a maggot in the gutter like me with one hand, not hesitate to drop your fist. Isn't this an insult to you? Lewis, come on, hit me, or are you really afraid of me?"
"I'm not afraid of you." Lewis's fist began to tremble, not because he was scared, but because his body was undergoing a fierce conflict. His body wanted to execute the punching action, but the cold, stern aura in his eyes was strongly stopping him.
"As long as I want, I can..."
"Forget it, Lewis, stop pretending. You just don't dare. You're just a guy playing with words who doesn't dare. Sit back down if you don't dare, stop putting on a show here."
"I... Lewis! Stay calm, don't fall for it, he's up to something, sit back, you're not afraid of him!"
"So who's really the maggot in the gutter then?"
"I... to hell with calm!"
"Bang!"
A forceful punch.
Along with it, a bullet shot out from a handgun.
The intense gunfire couldn't be contained within the interrogation room's door.
So the journalists waiting at the Security Office's entrance, along with Anya, all heard it.
Anya was the first to rush into the Security Office.
Inside the Security Office, the officers clearly looked shocked, unable to understand who could possibly fire a gun in their own base.
Seeing Anya burst in, someone tried to stop her, but Anya herself was formidable. Now, with the true name's empowerment, no one could stop her.
She quickly charged to the door of Ethan's interrogation room.
Then she kicked open the door of the interrogation room, revealing the full force of the Black Butler's true name.
With the door wide open, Anya, along with the group of journalists who followed her and took advantage of the chaos to rush in, saw this scene.
In the interrogation room, one officer stood with a gun in hand, looking somewhat bewildered. Another officer went around the table, raising a fist to attack the person on the ground.
On the ground, Ethan was pinned, blood oozing from his mouth, Lewis like an enraged beast, raising a bloody fist ready to strike again.
This scene was shocking, and was immediately captured by the journalists outside.
Only when flashbulbs continually went off did Lewis come to his senses. He turned his head to the doorway and shouted furiously, "No photos! No photos!"
But this scene was captured perfectly as great material.
In the chaos, Ethan was rescued. Someone attempted to snatch the camera from a journalist's hands.
But more people were trying to stop Lewis from continuing to go crazy. He still tried to get through the crowd to bring Ethan back.
"You can't let him go! Come back! You come back to me! Damn it! Damn it!"
After being escorted out of the Security Office by the crowd, Anya was ready to take Ethan to the hospital.
But Ethan refused. Covering his still bleeding mouth, he waved to the surrounding journalists.
"Everyone, I'm sure you have a lot of questions. Although I'm exhausted and in pain now, I still have to speak out, for myself, and for the rights of all Wenster's citizens!"
