This snow disaster hasn't affected the city much due to the presence of several big factories. Every year, the coal and winter supplies are well-prepared. Even if the roads are blocked, they can manage for half a month easily. But the rural towns below are having some trouble. The continuous snowy and rainy weather over the past ten days has first soaked those mud houses with rain, and then crushed them with snow, causing quite a few to collapse.
In such cold weather, when houses collapse, food can't be moved out, leaving people without food or drink. Some even get injured, definitely needing outside help and rescue.
The five major factories wanted to contribute as well. The factory committee organized some donations in money and supplies, arranged for vehicles and personnel, and was ready to head to the countryside.
