Mr. York stared at his phone with a blank expression, pondering the decision throughout his journey.
However, when he drove to the community and saw the lights still on in Miss Thomas's house, he couldn't resist parking outside her garden gate and ringing the doorbell.
Miss Thomas was still awake.
She was sitting on the sofa in a bathrobe, holding a cup of hot milk in her hand, her face slightly pale.
Upon hearing the doorbell ring, she placed the hot milk on the coffee table, got up, and walked to the window, pulling aside the curtain corner to look at the person at the gate.
There was a small path leading from her standing spot to the fence at the garden gate.
With a streetlight at the gate, she squinted and knew it was Isaac York who had arrived.
She pressed the remote switch for the fence gate at the garden entrance.
The fence gate opened, and Mr. York walked in.
It didn't take long for Mr. York to arrive at the entrance of the grand house's living room.
