Ruby Sheldon turned anger into joy, "Okay, thank you, Dad!"
She provocatively glanced at Lawrence Winters, with a strong desire to defeat him, and the words she'd been churning over in her mind spilled out: "Miss Winters, people like you who don't have a father can't understand the greatness of paternal love. What a pity, do you really have a father? I mean, a legally acknowledged father, your mother's lawful husband."
Lawrence Winters rarely responded to such provocation because it was an unfair fight.
But Ruby should never have mentioned her mother.
Family is off-limits, especially parents.
Lawrence Winters' face fell, gently patting her napkin on the table, she said softly, "Miss Sheldon, if you're ignorant, speak less and read more. I obviously have a legally acknowledged father, do you have any questions?"
Autumn Stetford raised her head abruptly, wanting to stop Ruby Sheldon, but it was too late.
