They searched several times and only took out their phones to call someone after confirming there was no one else here.
"Miss, we've checked carefully, Joyce's grandmother isn't here."
The person on the other end of the call was Spring Spencer. She frowned and said, "Are you sure? Is the old lady hiding? You must protect her, don't let anyone harm her."
"We ran into that group when we came, they've already had their arms broken and tendons cut and were thrown out. Don't worry about it." The short man earlier now spoke in a very respectful Northern accent.
Spring Spencer nodded, "Okay, thank you. For now, just like this, keep an eye on Joyce's grandmother's house. If she returns, make sure she's safe."
Only after repeated assurances did Spring Spencer hang up the phone.
She rubbed her temples and said to her mother Ava Harlow sitting in front of her, "Mom, thank you for helping."
