Throughout the journey afterward, Ruan Xingwen didn't have the heart to speak, simply eating the breakfast Yu Xiaozhe had bought quietly.
Yu Xiaozhe bought quite a bit, but not too much of each item—just enough to finish in a few bites—which led to Ruan Xingwen realizing only after he'd nearly finished everything that he'd eaten so much.
Yet Yu Xiaozhe hadn't eaten a thing, quietly driving.
Looking at the last few small fried dumplings, Ruan Xingwen hesitated.
Finally, at a red light at an intersection, he took one dumpling and offered it to Yu Xiaozhe.
"Brother Ze, this is pretty good, you should try it."
His eyes glanced sideways out the window, too shy to look at Yu Xiaozhe directly.
Yu Xiaozhe glanced at the bashful person, opened his mouth, and ate the dumpling, then commented:
"Hmm, it is indeed good."
Who knows if it's the dumpling that's good, or the person feeding the dumpling that's good…
"So, do you want another one?"
