The ready Hua Biao and Li Xiaoxin raised their hands to greet the long-waiting Lei Tong and Old Xu.
Old Xu didn't say much, just waved to Lei Tong, signaling him to quickly open the lock and let them through.
Following orders, Lei Tong gently pulled down the chain of the lock, then slowly pulled the door open.
"Squeak!" The piercing scream from the door hinge was not unexpected. Lei Tong had been extremely careful, but time had taken its toll, and the rusty hinge let out a howl nonetheless.
This "howl" took Old Xu and the others by surprise. It's important to know that sounds like this might seem trivial normally, but in the stillness of midnight, they appeared exceptionally clear.
As the door opened, Hua Biao and Li Xiaoxin, though startled by the sudden noise, quickly dashed inside.
But just as Hua Biao and Li Xiaoxin stepped inside, the door to a conference room down the hallway, filled with Japanese students, was pulled open, and two Japanese students walked out.
