"Ring ring, ring ring—"
At four thirty in the morning, the phone on Yu Xueqing's bedside table emitted a series of piercing sounds.
The sensitive-eared fox poked its head around, looking bewildered at the glowing screen of the phone. Beside it, Yu Xueqing slept like the dead, as if entirely oblivious to her own phone ringing.
"Smack—"
After completing a sit-up, the little fox lay back on the pillow, raised a paw, and patted Yu Xueqing's small face.
Yu Xueqing drowsily opened her eyes, reached out for the constantly ringing phone, glanced at the name on the screen, and groggily answered, "Hey... Momo, what's up?"
Around four in the morning is one of the best sleep quality periods.
Even though Yu Xueqing picked up the call, her mind was still frantically racing towards dreamland.
"Ah Qing, help me! I'm about to go crazy!" Mo Yiqing's voice came from the other side of the phone, her older sister-like tone muddled as if she were tipsy.
