Chapter 32 - Chapter 14: From the Relegation Zone to the Promotion Zone, San Remo's Golden Central Axis

"Have you gotten taller?"

This was the first thing Morici said when he saw Lu Yang.

As a midfielder currently only at 172 cm, Morici was very sensitive about height.

His good relationship with Lu Yang might stem from a shared sense of sympathy.

After all, they were both the shortest in their respective fields.

But now, it seemed Lu Yang was defecting.

"Morici, in my hometown, there's a song called 'When You're Lonely, You'll Think of Who'," Lu Yang began.

Morici hesitated: "What do you mean? I've long been used to being away from home, I'm not afraid of loneliness."

Lu Yang said, "That's good, because there will always be darkness, people will always part, and no one can accompany you forever."

Morici: "What on earth are you talking about? Are you leaving San Remo?"

"Silly child." Lu Yang patted Morici's head and said, "I'm leaving the realm of 170 cm to breathe the fresh air at 180 cm! From now on, we'll be living in different worlds."

Lu Yang finished speaking and ran off.

While Morici chased after Lu Yang to hit him.

Did 170 cm eat at your house?

Do you think at 180 cm you'll be breathing the stratosphere's air?

"Lu Yang, Morici, come over here for a moment," Sotu called to the two from the side of the field, standing next to a man in his thirties, dressed in a suit and smiling.

"Boss." Lu Yang and Morici walked over.

Sotu introduced, "This is Arthas, Maniero's brother, and he's a professional agent."

"Maniero's brother?" Morici was very surprised.

"Agent?" Lu Yang's focus was on the latter.

"Hello, I'm here to discuss cooperation with you." Arthas looked at Lu Yang and Morici, keeping a smile on his face.

Ten minutes later, the four appeared in a cafe in San Remo.

"Can you tell us the reason you approached us?" Lu Yang took the initiative, "I doubt a top agent managing star contracts has time to focus on the Italian D League."

After Lu Yang said this, Arthas felt a chill.

This was his first impression of Lu Yang after meeting him: a sharp and aggressive player.

Lu Yang's words clearly conveyed to Arthas that even with just ten minutes, Lu Yang had learned something about Arthas through his channels.

How genuine or deep his understanding was, given the ten-minute limitation, was another matter.

But this attitude was enough to demand respect.

This was definitely not someone easily fooled; he had his own judgment, accustomed to listening but never allowing others to dictate him.

This aspect is a very sensitive issue in player-agent cooperation.

If this relationship is mishandled, the cooperation between agent and player will certainly be unpleasant.

Arthas maintained his smile; he genuinely loved to smile: "Actually, I have little interest in being an agent. Most of the players I signed were due to my brother's connections."

"If you're attentive, you'd notice from my signed players that since my brother Maniero retired, I haven't signed any new players."

"My agent career began because of my brother. I became his agent simply because he didn't want others to earn the money, especially when he saw me idling around."

"After becoming his agent, I learned a lot, enabling me to be of use when my brother's friends needed help."

"This led to a few more signed players, but essentially, I'm not interested in them at all."

Arthas clearly explained his background.

Yet, if this conversation were made public, it would indeed cause a stir.

Because Arthas is actually one of Italy's top ten football agents. He has more than five star players, including four playing in Juventus, AC Milan, and Inter Milan.

His influence is evident.

And for such a person to say he's not interested in star players, wouldn't you want to punch him?

It's too much like Versailles.

"I'm only interested in players like my brother," Arthas looked at Lu Yang.

"You're only interested in midfielders?" Morici was a bit confused about why Arthas approached Lu Yang.

Lu Yang shook his head, looked at Arthas and said, "No, he's only interested in talented players. Extremely talented ones!"

Arthas' smile became especially bright: "Exactly."

Morici suddenly understood: "Because you want to watch a talent gradually grow and experience the joy of a guide?"

Lu Yang shook his head again: "No, it's because the profit from a talented player will exceed other players tenfold, a hundredfold, even if the latter are stars!"

Arthas praised passionately: "I must sign you, Lu! And of course, Morici, you're excellent too; I'll sign you as well."

For some reason, Morici seemed a bit unhappy, as if he felt like the 'buy one get one free' offer.

Arthas had been spoiled by Maniero.

One Maniero still brings him the most profit till today, more than all his other star players combined.

That's the difference between a superstar and a regular star.

Perhaps in terms of transfer fees, this point isn't particularly evident.

But in terms of celebrity effects, this difference is terrifying.

On the competitive side, within the same level, no superstar can exert the effect of three players on the field. Otherwise, when you play an 11 vs 8 match, the team with eight players always loses.
