Through the rearview mirror, Sheng Yanxiao glanced at Lu Yuewei and didn't say anything more.
The car slowly drove into the complex. Lu Yuewei opened the door and got out. Sheng Yanxiao didn't drive away, though; he parked right there, got out himself, and instead of following Lu Yuewei into the same building, he walked forward a bit and stopped downstairs from Su Weiyi's apartment building.
Back home, Lu Yuewei changed into slippers and walked out onto the balcony. She happened to see, downstairs at the entrance of the unit where Su Weiyi lived, a tall figure leaning against a tree.
Lu Yuewei let out a faint laugh, turned and went back inside, took a shower in the bathroom, changed her clothes, then poured herself a glass of milk, sat down at the computer, and started working on her master's thesis.
Before long, the phone by her hand rang. Seeing the caller ID, her eyes immediately lit up with a smile. She reached out to answer, "Mom."
