Flora locked the door and sat quietly at the edge of the bed, waiting.
Almost an hour passed when the door was knocked.
"Miss, it's me."
Flora relaxed, quickly walked over to open the door.
Seeing Lewis, she lowered her voice and asked, "How did it go?"
"I'm not sure about the specifics with Mason Baker, but it's obvious things went wrong. His Highness is extremely angry, and he might come soon."
"Stay and guard the door."
Flora shut the door again, hurried back to bed.
Just as she covered herself with the thin blanket, the door was forcefully pushed open, Arthur Bennett came in, holding a bottle of wine.
Yet there was no trace of anger on his face.
Flora knew he was disguising his true emotions, with a gentle smile on her face, "Honey, are you staying here tonight?"
"Yes, of course." He approached her, "Do you want some wine, dear?"
"I don't want to drink."
