Hayley Cole carried the cake box, eagerly running to James Reed's door: "James, James, I ate some really delicious cake with your mother today. I brought some back for you to try."
Hayley had been staying here for over half a month, almost a month now. Charlotte Reed and Ethan treated her very well. She felt more comfortable and at ease here than at her own home.
Not to mention she could see the person she liked every day. She felt like her life over the past twenty-something years was wasted; those days were hell, now it's heaven.
She didn't think of herself as an outsider at all. Without waiting for James to answer, she pushed the door open and walked in, holding up the cake, taking a deep sniff, and made a deeply enchanted expression: "James, it's really tasty."
James nodded with a smile and then took it: "Thank you, sorry to trouble you again."
