"How did this happen? How could this happen?" Old Mrs. Wilson paced frantically outside the rescue room, hands clasped, muttering prayers to protect her daughter.
Mason Wilson arrived while the rescue was still underway.
"Mom." Mason Wilson looked at his haggard, tear-streaked mother. He felt troubled, but his sympathy was quickly suppressed when he thought of his mother's unprincipled defense of Emerie.
"Sophie is even more innocent, isn't she?"
"Mason, you're finally here." Upon seeing Mason Wilson arrive, Old Mrs. Wilson rushed over to him, grabbing his hand, sobbing uncontrollably.
"What happened?" Mason Wilson knew the answer but still wanted to give his family a chance to explain. Unfortunately, they clearly didn't seize it.
"It's all Sophie Wilson's fault! Sophie Wilson angered your sister, causing her illness!" Old Mrs. Wilson angrily cursed, "That wretched creature..."
