The kitchen's landline suddenly rang, startling her.
She hastily wiped away her tears and got up to answer.
It was Tang Yanqing!
She was scared to death, thinking she had possibly passed out, and quickly looked out the window. She saw his police car and then asked, "Why have you suddenly come?"
Tang Yanqing snorted, "Just got off work from the bureau. Missing you, so I drove over to see you. Didn't expect to see firelight in your kitchen, got worried."
Shi Nian held the receiver, a bit flushed, "It's nothing. Just wanted some hot water, came downstairs to boil it."
He laughed wickedly on the phone, "Lonely, empty, cold, huh?"
Shi Nian understood and couldn't help but scold him lightly, "Get lost!"
He sighed longingly, "...When do you plan to stop sharing a bed with Rosa, huh? It's making me want to crawl in through the window, but I have no chance."
"Hey, you!" Shi Nian heard with embarrassment beyond measure, "Don't mess around."
