Chapter 2 - The Trigger

[9 Years Ago – International Space Research Center]

System Alarm: BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

Unknown Agent:

"Sir, Project X — the satellite — it's strayed from its designated orbit. We've lost control!"

Commander:

"What do you mean lost control?"

Unknown Agent:

"We're losing every connection... Attempting override now—"

Static fills the screen. The satellite continues drifting helplessly into space... heading toward a black hole.

[Transmission lost.]

---

[2 Years Later – ISRC Monitoring Station]

Suddenly, a dim blip appears on a monitor.

Unknown Agent:

"Sir! We're picking up a signal... Channel 32E-X."

Commander:

"...Isn't that the satellite we lost two years ago? Try to connect immediately!"

Unknown Agent:

"Attempting connection... Control's unresponsive. Wait — we've accessed the onboard camera!"

A shaky but clear view appears: a planet with massive skyscrapers, flying vehicles, glowing structures — clearly not Earth.

Commander:

"What in the world is this place...?"

Commander:

"Zoom in. Get a better look."

Suddenly, three humanoid aliens appear in front of the camera. Their yellow eyes glow ominously.

One of them fires a beam directly from his eyes—

[Transmission terminated. Satellite destroyed.]

Commander (stunned):

"What was that...? That power... it could destroy Earth's defenses in seconds. And there were three of them. God knows how many more exist."

Commander (thinking):

They don't seem to be like chirins we have, no chirin could launch a ranged attack like that and with such great power. Chirins are only able to perform aura based attack moves with soul energy, but it was different, it wasn't soul energy and those yellow eyes….

Can't say for sure if they are chirin level danger or even more but we need to be prepared.

Commander (urgently):

"Request an emergency meeting with all global leaders. Now."

---

[Two Days Later – Earth Council Conference]

195 world leaders and the 8 global Chirins sit in silence as the ISRC Commander steps forward.

Commander:

"I'm the Commander of the International Space Research Center. I thank you all — leaders and Chirins alike — for attending on such short notice."

Commander:

"What we discovered is... alarming. We've confirmed the existence of advanced extraterrestrial life — hostile, and far beyond our power."

Unknown Nation Leader:

"Aliens? Preposterous! No such thing exists. Stop wasting our time!"

Commander:

"Sir, all nine Chirins and leaders with ISRC database access have already seen the footage. This isn't about belief anymore. This concerns Earth's survival."

The First Chirin:

"If we truly face a threat of this magnitude... then we must evolve."

The First Chirin:

"I propose an Earth-wide talent hunt — a search for exceptional individuals. We must awaken more Chirins. We must establish training facilities, academies, and battle programs."

The First Chirin:

"Let us call it the Earth Union Tournament — the EU Tournament."

Voting screens light up across the room. Every nation sees the potential for prestige and power. One by one, the votes come in.

[Motion Passed – EU Tournament Initiated]

---

[Present – Unknown Dreamscape]

Reeno stands atop a bloodstained cliff. Below him, warriors kneel, defeated. A battlefield lies in ruins. Wind whips through his long hair. His glowing yellow eyes shine like a god's.

Reeno (thinking):

"Where... am I? Who are these people kneeling before me...? Is it another dream"

He looks down at his hands — stained with blood, shaking not from fear... but from restrained power.

---

[Reeno's Room – Morning]

Reeno jolts awake, drenched in sweat.

Reeno (thinking):

"That dream... it felt real. Almost like a memory."

Reeno (thinking):

"But those eyes... glowing yellow, just like the ones that murdered my mother. What do they have to do with me...?"

He walks into the washroom, splashes water on his face, and stares into the mirror. His reflection stared back — older, sharper, and far more serious than a boy of fifteen should look.

Reeno (thinking):

Three years passed in a flash... and now the tournament is just one week away.

His frame was lean but powerful. The years of brutal training had shaped him into something beyond human — a fact even he couldn't ignore.

He strapped on a massive backpack, the straps creaking under its sheer weight. Without hesitation, he vanished into the trees, his body launching from branch to branch as though gravity barely touched him.

Ten minutes later, he landed outside the training hut. Kael stood waiting, arms folded, eyes squinting.

Kael:

"Oh, you're here."

Reeno didn't answer. He dropped the bag. It hit the ground with a thunderous thud that shook the earth beneath them.

Kael:

"...How much weight is that thing?"

Reeno:

"Roughly 500 kilos, give or take."

Kael (thinking):

He's already surpassed human limits. This boy... no — this warrior — is something else.

Without pause, Reeno began hammering his fists into the nearby trees. Each punch echoed like thunder. Trees fell one after another, split by raw, controlled force.

Kael tossed him a towel.

Kael:

"It's time, kid. Are you ready?"

Reeno (wiping sweat):

"What do you think?"

Kael smirked.

Kael:

"We leave for the downhill village tomorrow. There's a train from there to the capital. Also... I know someone who can help clean up your look. You can't show up looking like a feral jungle beast."

Reeno (chuckles):

"At least I still look better than you, old man."

Kael:

"Watch it! Who're you calling old?"

Kael (thinking):

Truth is... he's long surpassed me. I want to see what kind of monster I've created.

Reeno:

"You sure you want to come with me? You've never left this forest."

Kael:

"This tournament is important — not just for you, but for all of us. I'll be right beside you."

Kael (thinking):

And I want to see him unleashed. Let the world witness what real power looks like.

Kael turned toward the hut.

Kael:

"Get some rest. Tomorrow, your real journey begins."

The moonlight spilled through the trees as Reeno looked back once more at the training grounds — his second home, the cradle of his pain and growth.

Tomorrow, he would leave it all behind.

Reeno (thinking):

The Earth Union Tournament... I'm coming.
