Chapter 220 - Chapter 219: Why are not all of you dead?

As they entered the council chambers, they saw three seats on each side of a throne on where who looked like King sat.

Kakashi looked carefully at the figure on the throne. Kakashi thought, 'So that's king T'Chaka.' The king sat with a calm and strong presence.

The seats were occupied with elders while the woman guards stood on every corner of the room including one behind the King that looked like the leader of the guards.

There was another man that looked a little similar in appearance to the king standing behind the King which Kakashi guessed was probably his son.

Kakashi had already figured out how should they greet the king. He had observed the proper form from the guards earlier and from the knowledge pulled during his genjutsu interrogation.

The others followed his lead without hesitation. With a sharp, fluid motion, he in his 'she form' snapped his feet together and stood at attention.

He then lifted his arms swiftly to his chest, crossing his right forearm over his left to form the tight, closed-fist X of the Wakandan salute, his vibranium spear resting securely against his shoulder.

As he looked toward the throne, his gaze remains steady and intensely loyal, embodying the absolute discipline of an elite protector honoring her king.

Natasha, Clint, and Steve copied the exact movement in their transformed forms.

The king and the elders nodded at them. The simple gesture gave permission for the report to begin. King T'Chaka kept his expression controlled, waiting for the words he expected.

"We have failed our mission your highness." It was Kakashi who spoke, mainly because he was the only one that managed to learn their local language isiXhosa in this short amount of time.

"That was within our predictions. But have you managed to gather their capabilities?" the king asked in a steady voice. He showed no anger at the failure.

Kakashi gave his report of capabilities of himself to the council and then it was followed by a discussion.

One of the older elders spoke that Kakashi defeated six trained Dora Milaje with surprising ease. Such strength could not be ignored. If left free, this outsider might one day turn his eyes toward Wakanda itself.

The elder argued that the best way to protect their hidden nation was to remove the greatest threat while it was still possible. Waiting would only allow the danger to grow.

Another elder nodded in agreement and added her own thoughts. She spoke about the long history of Wakanda staying safe by remaining unseen. The world outside had always been hungry for power and resources. Vibranium had kept their people strong, but only because no one knew the full truth.

King T'Chaka listened quietly before speaking himself. He agreed that the threat was real. The battle in New York had shown the world that new kinds of power existed.

Kakashi stood at the center of the Avengers like a strong tree holding many branches. Removing him might cause the whole group to weaken and scatter. The king explained that Wakanda had survived for centuries by making hard choices. Protecting their people and their way of life came before the safety of any single outsider.

Prince T'Challa finally stepped forward a little and spoke with careful respect. He suggested that the outside world and the Avengers might not be enemies after all.

The young prince argued that times were changing. Hiding forever might no longer be the safest choice. Connecting with the Avengers could bring understanding instead of fear.

If Kakashi and his team truly worked to protect the Earth, then Wakanda and the Avengers might share the same goals. T'Challa believed that open talk could prevent future conflict. He asked the council to consider whether killing one man was the only answer, or if a different path of contact might serve them better.

One of the elders answered the prince with patience but firm disagreement. He said that good intentions from outsiders had often led to trouble in the past. History showed that powerful groups always wanted more once they learned of vibranium.

The Avengers might start as friends, yet the governments behind them would pressure for access to Wakanda's resources.

As the discussion continued, the woman royal guards leader, Okoye said "I am sorry for interrupting my king. But I have a question for them." She turned to look at the transformed assassins with sharp focus.

Her voice cut through the room with the authority of a general.

"There were six of you. But four of you returned." She said. Okoye's eyes moved from one disguised figure to the next, counting and measuring.

"They died, General." Kakashi said. He did not offer extra details that might create new questions.

Okoye raised her spear at him and the other guards following her also did the same. The tips of the vibranium weapons pointed steadily at the four figures.

The room grew tense in an instant. "You misunderstand me. I am asking you if you fought that man, why are not all of you dead?"
