Kakashi and the other Avengers went along with Hank and Ororo to see Charles who was talking to a blue-skinned woman with red hair.
The woman who was facing Charles turned when the door opened. Her gaze swept over the group. It lingered on Tony's armor for a second longer than necessary. Then it moved to Cap's shield. Then to Kakashi's masked face.
Tony's first question made Kakashi facepalm though he had the same question in his mind if he was being truthful. Tony stepped forward with his usual confidence. His helmet was off. His face showed pure curiosity mixed with zero filter.
"Are you wearing anything or are you naked?" Tony asked.
The woman though looked in no mood to joke. "These are the people you think would be able to help us? Seriously?"
Her voice was dry. Tired. A little angry. She looked at Charles like he had lost his mind. Then she looked back at Tony. Her yellow eyes narrowed.
Tony raised both hands. "Hey. Don't be so judging. I am sure that you would have been asked the same question many times."
Cap said, "Tony be serious."
Tony shrugged. "What? It's a valid question. Blue skin. Red hair. No visible clothing seams. I'm just trying to understand the situation."
Kakashi asked Charles, "What's the situation?"
Charles wheeled closer to the group. His face looked more tired than usual. Lines of worry creased his forehead. "It seems the reason I could not find Magneto is because he was taken. Taken by a very super strong person according to Mystique here."
Kakashi looked at the woman who is apparently named Mystique wondering what her power would be.
She looked a little like Nightcrawler so maybe teleportation but her name led to that her power might be related to her appearance.
"So the very powerful guy that X-Men are so fearful of was just kidnapped?" Tony asked. His tone was mixed with disbelief and sarcasm.
"Not just kidnapped," Mystique said. She looked at Logan at the last part. "He was taken from the Brotherhood by someone very powerful who knocked out everyone in the Brotherhood to take him. Him, Pyro, and Sabretooth."
Logan's face twisted. "Huh. Serves that bastard right."
He looked at Cap and said, "Sabretooth is my brother. And I am not angry about him being kidnapped. Never liked him for the past century."
Kakashi thought that there was some family drama involved there. He ignored that and focused on Charles and Mystique.
"She is part of Brotherhood? The one Magneto leads right?" Kakashi asked as Charles nodded at that.
"So does she know where Wanda is and where she is breaking the reality barriers?" Kakashi asked.
Kakashi and the other Avengers had no obligation to save Magneto. They were here to prevent the destruction of both the universes.
They had come for only one reason here. Stop the incursion. Find the reality warper and end the threat. Magneto's fate did not matter to them. Besides, he was not a saint according to X men so there was no merit in saving them.
It was Mystique that answered. "I did not know that Erik was doing something like this. He did not tell any one of us about this. He probably wanted to prevent a leak if Charles managed to read one of our minds."
She crossed her arms tighter. "So if you want to find Wanda's location, you do not have any choice but to help find Erik and rescue him from the guy that took him. But I don't think that we all could do it. That guy was very powerful."
Her voice dropped lower. Fear edged into it.
"This guy is very powerful," Tony pointed to Kakashi.
Mystique looked at Kakashi. She studied him for a long moment. Then she said ominously, "Trust me, whatever you think he is strong that guy who attacked us was literally a God."
Kakashi thought, 'Now that's interesting. It would not be my first time fighting a god though.'
Charles spoke next. "It does not matter. We will help rescue Erik. Despite our differences he is my friend and we can't leave such a powerful threat out there too. And there might be a reason he kidnapped Erik, Pyro and Sabretooth. We can't let the kidnapper do what ever he wants."
He looked at Kakashi and the Avengers. "Will you people please come with us and help us? I swear to talk to Magneto about our situation afterwards. I believe saving him would go long towards stopping him from breaking the reality barriers."
Kakashi looked at the otherd and Cap nodded first. Kakashi sighed and said,"Very well."
Charles thanked them.
Kakashi spoke, "Did the man say anything? Any clue about where he was taking Erik?"
Mystique shook her head. "No he just punched his way through the brotherhood. No mutant was able to harm him. He took Erik and the others because from what I could see he liked their powers."
Tony rubbed his chin. "Sounds like he wants something from Erik and others. Or needs him for something. Question is what."
Charles opened his eyes. "We will find out. Let's start finding them. With Mystique's help we can narrow the search."
Suddenly Kakashi felt a very strong presence. He might not be a sensor but his nose was of a Hatake and while it was not as powerful as an Inazuka it still could smell when someone very strong appeared near him.
"I don't there is any need to find him. The person is here." Kakashi said as his Sharingan flashed open.
