Kakashi Hatake and Nick Fury arrived at the prison cell holding Carl Creel and Emil Blonsky. It was more of a big house than a prison.
They noticed Creel sitting in one corner of the room, his eyes wide with fear, while Blonsky, in his towering Abomination form, stared him down.
Neither spoke to each other as Creel looked at the monster in front of him. They both looked at Kakashi and Fury who just walked in the room.
Kakashi broke the tension, "It looks like you two have acquainted with each other."
Fury's eye studied Creel, assessing. "Well, Blonsky knows me. Let me introduce myself. I am Director of SHIELD, Nick Fury." He paused, his tone shifting to curiosity. "Could you show me how your ability works?"
Creel glanced at Kakashi, seeking permission. Kakashi nodded.
Creel touched the floor, his skin transforming into the dull sheen of the metal it was made of, his body taking on its properties.
Fury's thoughts raced. "Is your skin the only thing that turns to metal, or even what's inside—muscles and all?"
Creel's voice was hesitant. "I think everything underneath too."
Fury nodded. He turned to both prisoners, his voice adopting a serious tone, "Alright, Blonsky, Carl, here's the deal. I have an offer for you. You can get out of here with your freedom in return if you work for a special team I'm making. It would be headed by Agent Hound here."
He pointed at Kakashi, his expression serious as ever. "You can either stay and rot here and occasionally give us your blood for some experiments, or join the team."
Creel's eyes lit up, 'Freedom? That's too good to pass up.' He opened his mouth to agree, the prospect of freedom outweighing his fear.
But Blonsky, ever the seasoned soldier, cut in, his voice gruff and skeptical. "We are criminals. I don't think your superiors would just let us go like that. General Ross especially would be after me the second I'm out of here. I'm sure others would also want a part of us. And they would be pretty scared of letting us go. You're not telling us the whole picture."
Fury's thoughts acknowledged the insight. He stepped back, gesturing to Kakashi. "The rest would be explained by Kakashi here."
Kakashi's gaze met Blonsky's, then Creel's, "You're right, Blonsky. No one would trust former criminals to join some secret team that would deal with other enhanced. That's why I would be putting, well, in simple words, a magic spell that would let me give you immense pain, paralyze you, or kill you. Of course, this spell can only be put with your permission."
Blonsky's Abomination face twisted into a wry smile, his thoughts bitter. "So, a fancy word for an exploding slave collar, huh?"
"What missions would we have?" Blonsky asked, his tone probing.
Kakashi answered,"If you've suddenly developed a moral compass, Blonsky, you don't have to worry. I would be the one choosing the missions. Not Fury, no other government or military officials. As Fury said, it would be a secret team and completely under my authority."
Blonsky's eyes narrowed,'He's got power to keep us in check but who watches him?'
"And what leash does he have on you if you go rogue? With you having control over both of us and with your strength, I don't think SHIELD or the army would be able to stop you." He looked at Fury, his gaze piercing.
Kakashi answered before Fury could, "Fury would say he trusts me, but I'm pretty sure he has some other plans considering he is too paranoid to give me the control of this team without any backup plan."
Fury's eyebrows twitched. 'He saw through me, huh?' He kept his face neutral though.
Blonsky's voice rumbled. "I'm in, if you can help me turn back to my normal form, just like how Bruce Banner can shift. I miss seeing my human hands."
Kakashi gave it a thought.
"Agreed," he said.
He turned to Creel, who shifted uncomfortably. Creel's thoughts were heavy, emotional.
He spoke,"I've been an underground boxer in my life, trying to earn money and fame before I took that experiment that gave me this power. You know, I wanted to be a hero like Captain America, but then I realized it's not something I can be. I think I like the sound of an underground hero fighting other super powered people."
Kakashi's thoughts softened.
'He's got a good heart, buried under bad choices.'
"Very well then, I will put the 'spell' on you now."
He turned to Blonsky. "Blonsky, you would be first. Put up your shoulder in front of me."
Blonsky extended his massive Abomination shoulder.
Kakashi's fingers lit up with chakra, glowing faintly as he traced intricate symbols on the rough, greenish- bluish skin.
His hands moved precisely as he knew it had to be perfect.
After finishing the symbols, he formed quick hand signs, his voice low. "Juinjutsu: Heavenly Cage Seal."
A red tattoo appeared on Blonsky's shoulder, glowing briefly as it burned for a few seconds before fading into his skin. Blonsky grunted in a little pain before the pain disappeared.
Kakashi warned, "Cutting your shoulder would not stop this thing from working."
He turned to Creel, who hesitated but offered his shoulder. Kakashi repeated the process, his fingers glowing as he drew the symbols, then performed the hand signs. "Juinjutsu: Heavenly Cage Seal." The red tattoo flared on Creel's skin, burning briefly before settling.
Creel blinked, his thoughts confused. "That's it?"
"I don't feel anything," he added, his voice tinged with relief. "Not that I'm complaining. It sounded scary when you said you can kill or give us immense pain from anywhere."
Kakashi's gave him an eye smiled "I can give you a try run if you want."
Both nodded, 'How bad can it be?' Blonsky thought. 'Better know now.'
Fury watched from the side, 'Let's see this 'spell' in action.'
Kakashi formed hand signs, his fingers moving swiftly. A moment later, both Creel and Blonsky shouted in pain, their bodies seizing.
"Ahhhhhh!" Creel clutched his head, "It's like fire in my skull!"
"Ahhh, my head! Make it stop!" Blonsky roared, his massive frame trembling, his thoughts desperate.
Kakashi stopped the seal's activation, his voice calm. "Good. It was my first time using this seal. It's good that you did not explode."
Creel and Blonsky exchanged looks, their thoughts unified. 'I am never crossing this guy.'
The pain lingered in their minds, a stark warning. 'That'll haunt me for days now. I can still feel the pain.' Creel thought.
Kakashi thought, 'They get it now. Fear would ace as a leash for now, but I'll build trust.'
Fury's thoughts were a mix of awe and unease. 'Another ability to write into Hound's file. It's good he needs a person's permission, or he might be controlling all the world and military leaders as slaves, and we wouldn't even know.'
