Chapter 14 - Omni-Man 'Awakens'

"Ah, Cousin, I'm sorry…"

Mark and Eve realized something was wrong, quickly separated, and didn't dare to look into each other's eyes.

"Forget it, there's no hope at all."

Seeing the pure high school students who hadn't dated yet blush to the roots of their ears, fidgeting and not immediately returning to the fight, what else could Russell say?

Look at these villains who want to invade Earth, able to pursue a single goal for decades, while the heroes are busy dating on the battlefield.

It's quite a classic.

"I'll finish you all with one breath left!" Sighing, Russell's gaze sharpened as he looked at the Flaxan army.

With all the powerful laser main battle tanks destroyed, the remaining laser rifles could only tickle him; he no longer needed to have any reservations.

Going all out, Russell weaved through the battlefield at supersonic speed.

Punching, kneeing, sweeping...

Every Flaxan who took a blow from Russell exploded into a mist of blood.

War Woman's thousands of years of accumulated combat experience allowed every part of Russell's body to become a deadly weapon.

From a battlefield overview, Russell's trajectory was like the God of Death's merciless crimson finger, bringing unavoidable death wherever it passed!

"Retreat, retreat!"

With large numbers of soldiers dead, the Flaxan Commander, modified by biological surgery, stared in horror at the blurred trajectory of that terrifying killing god figure, shouting the retreat order.

Russell chased down the last Flaxan who escaped into the portal, his iron hand snapping their neck, and casually tossed the body aside like garbage.

Behind him lay alien limbs and severed arms scattered on the ground.

That slender figure who had once again slaughtered their army cast a light glance over.

In the Flaxan remote command operations room, the room was silent, the air solidified as if choked by an invisible hand, and a group of Flaxan generals hurriedly ordered the portal closed.

Afraid that figure would follow and kill them.

But they were overthinking it; Russell had no interest in going to an alien world without superhumans.

The portal surrounded by energy arcs closed, announcing – the alien army's second invasion of Earth had failed, similarly killed back almost by the power of one person!

As the battle ended, people hiding in distant buildings came out to cheer for the Superheroes who saved them.

Some still shaken people clapped, looking worriedly at the city center where the interdimensional portal had closed.

The last time the alien army was completely annihilated, defeated as miserably as possible, but these green-skinned tentacled aliens only took one day to raise another well-disciplined elite army.

Is the population of the alien world on the other side fixed-point refreshing?

...

Soon, as the TV station interviewed the Global Defense Agency, some astonishing inside information was revealed – over a decade had passed in the aliens' time from their invasion of Earth from the center of Chicago, while only one day had passed on Earth.

Even on Earth, where famous gods from mythology or demons trying to destroy the World occasionally appear, this matter finally attracted some attention.

Everyone intensely discussed how to deal with this alien invasion by the Flaxen.

"Hello, this is the Global Connection program, I'm your host Kaitlyn Meyers. Twenty-four hours have passed since the Flaxan's second invasion was defeated by young Superheroes like Infinitoid, Invincible, and Atomic Woman.

Fortunately, the third invasion did not happen on the third day we learned about the Flaxan, but we all know this doesn't mean it's over; the Flaxan are certainly brewing a more terrifying offensive."

In the studio, the lights were dazzling.

Host Kaitlyn Meyers adjusted her earpiece, her expression serious. The holographic screen behind her was looping footage of the Flaxan's second invasion three days ago – soldiers in blue and white armor being rapidly defeated by a hooded figure.

The bottom right corner of the screen constantly refreshed with the red warning text '1 Earth Day = 15 Flaxan Years'.

In the guest seat to the host's right, military strategist Raymond Coles, former Global Defense Agency tactical advisor, gloomily brought up a set of estimated data.

"This isn't an ordinary technological gap problem." His voice was like sandpaper rubbing, "The main battle laser rifles used by the Flaxen in their second invasion have iterated at least twice compared to the first.

The power has increased by more than three or four times.

In the first invasion, the Flaxan's technological level was already at least twenty years ahead of ours, and this time…"

"It won't be long before our Earth technology is as backward as that of primitives in front of the Flaxan; at that time, they can easily dismantle our global military defense power."

"I have a different opinion from Mr. Coles." In the guest seat on the other side of the host, a sign for former Battle Beast member Wildcat Williams was placed on the table. A mild-mannered middle-aged man, he sighed with emotion as he faced the audience.

"As a retired Superhero, I must remind you that many past crises in the World have been resolved by Superheroes with extraordinary abilities and outstanding character stepping forward."

"The last Flaxan invasion and this one were no exception. Look at this young man whose hero codename is 'Infinitoid'. Ignoring his somewhat casual hoodie and mask, he is powerful, brave, full of potential, and a valuable fresh blood among our Superheroes."

The holographic screen behind showed a screenshot of Infinitoid grabbing a tank and smashing another one like a hammer. The frame was perfectly timed, with metal fragments flying everywhere, the ground cracking, and the sense of power almost leaping out of the screen.

"And Invincible, Atomic Woman, and the others…"

Scenes from the battles were shown one by one.

"As a previous generation Superhero, seeing this, I am very pleased. The spirit of Superheroes is passed down through generations."

He looked at the audience and said seriously.

"This is our advantage over the Flaxan; we have powerful and brave Superheroes, while they do not.

Technology has never been our strength. Generation after generation of Superheroes will always strive to protect our World."

"For example, Earth's strongest Superhero, Omni-Man…"

In the Global Defense Agency hospital corridor, Mark looked at the rebroadcast interview program on his phone, excitedly patting Russell's shoulder beside him. "Cousin, look, they mentioned you, me, and Dad."

He had watched this program when it first aired, but when Russell glanced over and happened to see the former Superhero guest say that Omni-Man would always protect Earth, he couldn't help but twitch his mouth.

"Heh heh… That's good."

— What a jinx.

"Nolan…" Just then, a joyful voice came from the hospital room.

Russell and Mark exchanged glances. Mark put away his phone, and the two quickly ran into the hospital room. Sure enough, the strong, tall man who had been lying in bed for two days finally opened his eyes.

"You're finally awake, Nolan."

Aunt Debbie buried her head in her husband's broad chest, her shoulders trembling slightly, accompanied by sounds of joyful crying.

"Mark, Russell."

Gently stroking his wife's back, the seemingly still slightly weak Omni-Man smiled at the two children.
