Chapter 45 - Chapter 44

Sorry for the short chapter, originally it had much more but I had to remove some parts for a certain reason.

----

To move your lord's mansion to another location, the system notified you that you would have to sacrifice an upgrade. That is, the next time you completed a world mission, your mansion would not level up. Instead, you would be given the opportunity to change the location of the Territory core and, with that, the mansion.

Although Kaito could have done it immediately, he chose not to. First, he would move, or rather rebuild, the city and then place his mansion. This was to avoid leaving the mansion unprotected.

Besides taking his city to another dimension where it would be safer, this opportunity gave Kaito another benefit: organizing his territory. At the beginning, he didn't think much about it, which led to his current situation, where his mansion is in the center and his territory simply keeps expanding as Kaito adds things when he obtains new blueprints.

The new territory will be divided as follows: in the center, just like before, will be the lord's mansion. This would normally go in higher or strategic areas, but since his territory will be constantly growing, the best position is the absolute center of the territory.

Due to the constant growth, the optimal division of a noble territory is also unfeasible, which is formed by different rings with walls. On the outside is the infantry, common soldiers; in the center, the whole population, from commoners to merchants; and finally, around the mansion's location, there is usually the noble zone, with families less powerful than the main noble but still powerful, along with elite soldiers like knights or royal guards.

Since this is impossible due to the constant expansion of his territory, Kaito decided to divide it into zones. That way, even if it expands, each sector can always be enlarged. With the central zone where his mansion is as the base, his territory is divided into four sectors, resembling a "Simon says".

These four are:

The normal zone: here is the entire population that simply lives their normal lives or who have not yet joined any others. It has houses, from single-person houses, hotels, to minor mansions for the wealthier, although most of the rich would normally have their houses in other zones simply for convenience.

The commercial zone: where most of the businesses are located. Despite being another zone, it is usually similar to the normal zone. This is to ensure that people are not afraid to enter, which would reduce profits. Additionally, Kaito deliberately designed it this way to avoid discrimination due to resources, since, obviously, most of those living in this zone are wealthy or will be. Still, if you go deeper, getting closer to Kaito's mansion zone, the area will level up, as it is inevitable. The rich want to show off being rich after all. Although nothing has happened so far, Kaito still wants to prevent it in the future.

The agricultural and industrial zone: This mainly has workplaces and almost no residences, though there are a few for the owners of these industries. The industries here are those that don't fit in the commercial zone due to their size, including large things like factories (though there are none at the moment) and crops.

The military zone: this is the most distinct from the rest. It is full of places to train soldiers, from common to the strongest, and here most of the towers Kaito has unlocked are located, along with training zones, weapon and armor refining areas, and other things useful for battle.

Regarding connectivity, it starts on a route that surrounds the central zone, from which 8 routes branch out, dividing the territory like a spider web, and these routes have more connections between each other to keep the entire territory connected. One thing to highlight is that the roads are now completely made of stone, giving a more modern look than dirt. On top of that, there are connections supplying electricity to the village. Although the Marbas clan, whom Kaito tasked with trying to recreate the Ark reactor, haven't succeeded, they managed to create a copy about ten times less powerful. Despite that, this is still enough to power the city for weeks, plus the fact that more can be made. This makes it the most advanced technological device in Gaia today. The only drawback is that the reactors need to be filled with magic, which then transforms into electricity.

Although for Kaito, who knows the Ark reactor, this last point is a drawback, for the inhabitants of this world it makes perfect sense, since everything runs on magic and they have no knowledge of electricity. Still, the Marbas clan keeps working on improving that.

One good thing about this need for magic is that it gave work to many people, since most inhabitants of their territory are demons, and all have abundant mana reserves.

At the same time, the Kobolds are working on their evolution tower to advance into beast people, while the low-class demons are also challenging one to rise to mid-class demons.

During this time, Kaito has summoned quite a few mid-level demons, now at least 100, but he hasn't summoned any high-class ones since Frey. The reason is that he doesn't consider it necessary.

So, while the artisans (he ended up breaking down all the units Kaito can summon that do any work unrelated to fighting) took care of those tasks, Kaito basically spent most of his time completing missions in the real world to accumulate free time, only returning to Gaia to make sure everything was in order and then spend the night.
