Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: Who’s Actually the Main Character?

Clang clang!

Chains sliced through the air as thick, heavy chains instantly wrapped around Kakashi. Two ninjas with masks and silver armor, their hair wild, pulled hard.

Kakashi shattered into pieces of bloody chunks instantly.

The moment felt like a replay — the same but slightly different.

Before the two could even say "Kill one," Sakura quickly threw a kunai wrapped with an explosive tag from her ninja pouch backward. The tag exploded just as it reached Tazuna, knocking him down.

Boom!!!

Pebbles scattered everywhere as the explosion's gust blew away the nearly completed Mist Jutsu. Dust filled the air, clearing the view significantly.

Sasuke froze for a second, then pulled out a kunai, planted his toes, and charged toward the three enemies behind Sakura, instinctively throwing an Uchiha shuriken throwing technique!

Five enemies at least — the two before plus these three!

Ding! Ding! Ding!

Kunai and shuriken ricocheted off each other, creating a net that blocked all enemy directions.

One enemy was too slow, pierced in the arm and abdomen by two kunai, losing combat ability immediately.

"Watch out!" Sakura shouted, knocking away chains behind Sasuke with a kunai but was pushed back two steps by the recoil.

Her body trembled continuously, the tremor not easing despite the fight.

She even forgot the hand seals for the Water Release technique momentarily.

Ask yourself: How likely is it for a woman who came from Earth to remain calm in front of ruthless ninjas?

Whoosh! A shuriken cut her cheek, leaving a wound. Sakura waved her kunai and deflected the rest.

Sasuke kicked one enemy down, then stood guard beside Sakura. "Protect Tazuna first, I'll protect you!"

Sakura stared blankly at Sasuke.

She suddenly recalled a night on Earth.

Back then, while in college, she streamed herself speedrunning Sekiro without taking damage, mostly unnoticed with only a handful of viewers.

Right after flawlessly beating the boss "Isshin," she accidentally died on a wrong path.

She sighed, "What a shame, that was my fastest run."

Her female voice caught a viewer's attention in chat, who asked:

"A girl?"

She felt instantly annoyed.

What's wrong with being a girl? Can't girls speedrun Sekiro?

Later, she streamed Elden Ring multiplayer and received similar remarks, plus harassment messages:

"5000 per night, deal?"

"Selling original stockings?"

"Can I step on you?"

"Looking for a female dog." …

She muted the mic, switched to a new account, and streamed a no-damage Elden Ring run on all bosses.

It took about half a year.

She succeeded.

The memories surged in Sakura's mind, triggered by Sasuke's casual remark.

It's not that you're arrogant, Sasuke — it's just Sakura who's a little pissed.

Her eyes sharpened. She stuffed the kunai back into her pouch and motioned Sasuke to cover her.

Before Sasuke could react, Sakura sprinted at the three enemies in front!

Whoosh! Whoosh! Sakura kicked away one kunai, another blocked by Sasuke, then wrapped her fist in chakra and struck down low.

The punch was mighty like mountains and seas, fierce as a dragon and tiger!

Pfft!

"Ahh!!" The enemy screamed in pain.

By the way, Sakura aimed for his crotch.

Meeting Doraemon on Earth might be a bother, but meeting him in the ninja world was downright unlucky.

Sakura knew her brute force was the best bet to win and buy time for Naruto's return.

Like Sekiro stabbing the enemy weak point after depleting stamina, she just skipped straight to the finishing move.

Pfft! Pfft! Pfft!

Sasuke shielded Sakura while throwing shuriken and kicked enemies down.

He felt an icy chill spread over his lower body.

"Oh damn!"

Sakura and Sasuke's cooperation forced the enemies into retreat.

The remaining enemies looked at Sakura with dread, their rhythm completely disrupted.

Sasuke fought fiercely, his hand feeling sharper after some military training.

Meanwhile…

Naruto opened his eyes and exhaled.

This trench was tough, but it should be enough time.

Kakashi must be watching somewhere.

In his mental space, Naruto summoned a huge orb of scarlet chakra.

He tore off a small piece, like pulling cotton candy, and placed it inside his chest.

Suddenly, his heart filled with rage — but it was still controllable.

Naruto dashed forward and soon saw Sakura and Sasuke beating the enemies back.

"I'm here!" Naruto jumped up and punched the nearest enemy, crushing his chest bone.

He ran forward, but the enemies were already in shambles.

He saw Sakura with even more murderous aura than him, sweating alongside Sasuke, and thought.

Wait…

Why do I feel like I'm not the main character anymore?

This isn't how the script was supposed to go.

Who really is the main character?!

Naruto felt a surge of frustration.

He thought the enemies would be strong enough to force them to use Nine-Tails mode immediately.

But now, the enemies were pretty weak?

"No way, I spent so much time in mental space, I can't let them steal my spotlight!"

"Get out of the way!" Naruto shouted to Sakura and Sasuke, joining the fight.

At first, he copied Sakura's punch technique, knocking out enemies one by one.

Then he realized — wait, why am I copying Sakura?!

He summoned multiple shadow clones and switched to full group assault.

Mostly straightforward taijutsu enhanced by Nine-Tails chakra.

"Leave a few alive, we need to interrogate them!" Sakura shouted from behind.

"Okay!" Naruto grabbed one, punched him hard while asking, "Talk or not? Talk or not? Talk or not?"

The man wanted to cry, "You ask first!"

Naruto punched him unconscious, grabbed another, and continued interrogations.

The questions included:

-What's the Third Hokage's bank password?

-How many kunai did you just throw?

-What color nail polish does the Akatsuki wear?

-Is your aunt married?

Finally, Sasuke and Sakura pulled the increasingly overexcited Naruto away.

Naruto blamed the Nine-Tails for messing with his mind.
