Chapter 226 - Chapter 226: Everyone Feared

"It's your companion. What are you so afraid of?"

Noticing the terrified expressions on Articuno and Zapdos, Jiang Chen spoke up.

Articuno and Zapdos widened their eyes. A companion? Was Jiang Chen actually capable of subduing a Pokémon that powerful?

Although they hadn't seen the Divine Beast inside the Master Ball, it was undoubtedly a Major Legendary. A Sub-Legendary would never possess an aura that could make them tremble with fear through a mere sense of presence.

"Go on, get back to your business," Jiang Chen said, waving them off.

Once they departed, Jiang Yuan turned his gaze toward the Master Ball hanging from Jiang Chen's waist.

From the reactions of Articuno and Zapdos, it was obvious that the ball contained a Pokémon that struck terror into the hearts of even those two Divine Beasts.

Mew was currently in the yard, leading Jiang Chen's other Pokémon through their training sessions, so it couldn't be Mew. It had to be another Divine Beast.

"You have another Divine Beast?" Jiang Yuan asked.

"Yes, and it's extremely strong. There aren't many that can defeat it," Jiang Chen nodded.

"What kind of Divine Beast?" Xiao Luoxue asked, immediately leaning in closer.

If it could terrify Articuno and Zapdos, it was clearly on a completely different level of power.

"Rayquaza."

"Rayquaza? What kind of Divine Beast is that?" Ling Wanqiu asked, her eyes filled with doubt.

She wasn't the only one; Jiang Yuan and Xie Yulan had never heard of Rayquaza either.

"You guys don't know Rayquaza? Really? Is its reputation that small?"

Jiang Chen was somewhat speechless. Was the popularity of the Mega Caterpie really that low?

"You know quite a bit about Divine Beasts, kid," Jiang Yuan remarked. "But I really don't have much knowledge regarding them. It's mostly because so few have ever appeared."

It was true. In this world, Pokémon had only arrived some two hundred years ago, and the number of times a Divine Beast had appeared could be counted on one hand.

The only Major Legendaries on record were Mew, Ho-Oh, Lugia, and Regigigas. There were plenty of records for Tier 2 and Tier 3 Legendaries, but the top tier remained a mystery.

"Is Rayquaza a Sub-Legendary?"

"Wrong. Rayquaza is a Major Legendary a genuine Tier 1. Its combat power is at the very peak, even among other Major Legendaries," Jiang Chen explained to them.

After Rayquaza underwent Mega Evolution, there was likely nothing among the Major Legendaries that could defeat it; at most, they could only hope for a draw. Even without Mega Evolution, its strength was top tier.

"What? A Major Legendary?"

Jiang Yuan stood up abruptly.

What did it mean to be a Major Legendary? If a Tier 3 Legendary could easily destroy a city, then a Major Legendary could wipe a nation off the map as if it were child's play, or even destroy an entire tectonic plate.

If a Divine Beast of equal power didn't intervene, a Major Legendary acting without restraint could easily devastate the surface of the entire planet. Humanity should be grateful that these Divine Beasts didn't just wander out to cause trouble on a whim.

"Release it! Let us see it," Jiang Yuan urged.

He wasn't the only one; Ling Wanqiu and Xiao Luoxue were also eagerly anticipating a glimpse of the legendary Major Legendary. The chance to see such a creature up close was something an ordinary person wouldn't get in a dozen lifetimes.

"If you want to see it, I suppose I can show you. But I should warn you, Rayquaza doesn't have a temper as gentle as Mew's," Jiang Chen cautioned.

He led them out into the courtyard and released Rayquaza.

The serpentine body of Rayquaza, nearly ten meters long, appeared in the yard. It let out a low hiss and looked at Jiang Chen with a hint of confusion in its eyes. It hadn't sensed any Pokémon threatening its master.

"This... this is Rayquaza?"

Jiang Yuan took a deep breath. Facing Rayquaza, he could clearly feel a crushing weight of pressure. This was even with Rayquaza restraining its aura; otherwise, an ordinary person wouldn't even have the right to stand before it.

"A normal Rayquaza is mostly green. Mine is a Shiny Rayquaza."

"What are its attributes?" Ling Wanqiu asked.

"It's a Dragon type and Flying type Divine Beast."

"I knew it. I guessed it would be a Dragon type."

Looking at its form, Xiao Luoxue had already suspected as much. She was a lover of Dragon type Pokémon, but she knew she had no chance of ever subduing a Major Legendary like this. Seeing it this close was enough to satisfy her. Most people would never get the chance.

Ling Wanqiu and the others watched Rayquaza carefully but didn't reach out to touch it, remembering Jiang Chen's warning about its temperament. They felt a deep sense of awe toward this Major Legendary.

"A Dragon type Major Legendary..." Jiang Yuan sighed with emotion. His son was far more capable than he was. If he hadn't benefited from his son's success, he would have never even seen a creature like this.

"Come back, Rayquaza."

Jiang Chen withdrew Rayquaza into its ball.

"Well, after this, absolutely no one will dare provoke you unless they've left their brain at home," Jiang Yuan laughed.

If people found out Jiang Chen possessed a Major Legendary, they would be scared out of their wits. A single strike from such a creature had the power to destroy a nation. Combined with Jiang Chen's vengeful personality, who would be stupid enough to cross him?

"That's not necessarily true. There are actually quite a few brainless people in this world."

Some people just loved to seek death.

Jiang Yuan didn't ask how Jiang Chen had subdued Rayquaza, and neither did the others. It was clearly part of his secrets, and they were tactful enough not to pry.

Seeing that Jiang Chen's mental state had improved no longer radiating the overflowing killing intent of yesterday Jiang Yuan felt relieved. He then took his leave, as there was a mountain of a mess waiting to be cleaned up, most of it caused by Jiang Chen himself.

"Mom, you should go handle the company affairs as well. Is anyone still targeting our group?" Jiang Chen asked Xie Yulan.

During yesterday's purge, Jiang Chen had made sure to clean out anyone who harbored ill intentions toward their family's business.

"Who would dare target us now?" Xie Yulan smiled.

Jiang Chen had terrified those people yesterday. Unless they were suicidal, no one would dream of lifting a finger against them. The foreign powers were currently in a state of chaos, and since Jiang Chen had just dispatched Articuno and Zapdos back to them, their losses were already beyond estimation.

Jiang Chen was now feared by everyone. Except for those who didn't know the inside story, who didn't fear him? Especially those who had witnessed his madness the day before.

Jiang Chen didn't leave today. He stayed home, skipped the Pokémon training, and went to the beach to fish instead. With Dragonite and Mew supervising the others' training, he didn't need to watch them personally.

He just wanted to do some fishing, soak up the sun, and enjoy the sea breeze.

"How about a little competition?" Xiao Luoxue, Ling Wanqiu, and Gu Shuangyue were all at the beach with him.

"A competition for what?" Ling Wanqiu asked.

"To see who can catch a rare Water type Pokémon, of course," Xiao Luoxue suggested.

"Sure, let's do it." Jiang Chen didn't mind. He felt his luck was currently very good. If a daily sign-in could net him ten Master Balls, perhaps his luck would hold true for fishing rare Pokémon as well.

"I hope I can hook a Kyogre."

In the past, Jiang Chen saying he would catch a Kyogre was just a joke. In reality, even if he had the chance back then, he wouldn't have wanted it because he wouldn't have been able to defeat it.

But things were different now. With Rayquaza by his side, handling a Kyogre would be simple. Even if you tied a Groudon to it, Rayquaza would still give them both a beating.

However, Jiang Chen wasn't Lana. Unless something truly absurd happened, catching a Kyogre was impossible.

"My luck is pretty good. I've got a bite already." Jiang Chen's eyes brightened as he felt a tug.

But after pulling it up, he couldn't help but shake his head. As expected, Pokémon that were easily hooked weren't anything precious.

It wasn't a Magikarp, but it wasn't much better it was a Tentacool. While not as numerous as Magikarp, they were incredibly common in the ocean, especially in shallow waters.
