We got to the spot where the bandits had attacked their victims, and strangely we found no body. There was a lot of blood on the footpath but there was nobody around or even close by. It was way too early for rogue wolves to begin roaming the woods, and if the body was devoured by rogue wolves, there would be more blood, and some parts of the victim's body, but there was nothing here.
Whatever happened to him, I said in my head, and continued to lead the others. We had a far more important assignment to attend to than to be bothered about an unknown person.
We travelled all through the night, and arrived at Dominus pack around the fourth hour of the next day. We met the warriors on guard, and after a few exchanges between the lead warrior of Dominus pack and Cedric, we were escorted to the Alpha's palace.
