Chapter 67 - volume 3: Chapter 14

Volume Three, Chapter Fourteen: The Truth Unveiled

The coalition's safehouse was tense with anticipation. The files from the heist, Patrick Jane's clues, and the mastermind's taunts had all pointed in one direction: a secret gathering in the redwood forests outside San Francisco. The Grove. The place where the world's most powerful men met under the cover of tradition, secrecy, and the law.

Penelope traced her finger along a digital map, zooming in on a heavily wooded estate. "Satellite images show increased activity here. Security's tight—infrared sensors, guards, drones. If we're going to get inside, we'll need to be ghosts."

Sylvester, sitting beside her, nodded. "I've hacked the guest list. It's encrypted, but I've cross-referenced names with travel logs and private jet manifests. Clarence Thomas is attending. So are several senators, CEOs, and intelligence officials."

Gibbs studied the list, jaw clenched. "They're not just running the program—they're protecting it at the highest level."

Olivia's eyes were hard. "Then we expose them. All of them."

Infiltration

Night fell as the coalition approached the Grove. Disguised as catering staff and technicians, they slipped through the outer checkpoints. The air was thick with the scent of pine and smoke. Torchlight flickered between the trees, guiding the way to the heart of the estate.

They moved in pairs. Olivia and Gibbs circled the perimeter, earpieces crackling with updates. Penelope and Sylvester, dressed as AV techs, set up a hidden camera feed, broadcasting everything back to the team's van. Michael Westen and Samara handled security, neutralizing guards and disabling alarms with practiced efficiency.

As they drew closer to the central clearing, the sound of chanting grew louder. Dozens of men in ceremonial robes gathered before a massive stone owl, its eyes reflecting the firelight. At the front of the assembly stood a high priest, his voice echoing through the trees.

"Care is banished! Let us be free from conscience for another year!"

A hooded figure stepped forward, lowering his cowl just enough for Olivia to see his face—Justice Clarence Thomas. He nodded solemnly as the effigy was set alight, flames licking up toward the owl's stony gaze.

Sylvester whispered, "We're getting all of this. It's streaming live to our secure channel."

Penelope squeezed his hand, her nerves steadying as the fire roared. "We're not just exposing a program. We're exposing the entire system."

The Revelation

Suddenly, alarms blared. The coalition's cover was blown. Guards surged from the shadows, weapons drawn.

Gibbs barked into his mic, "Extraction! Now!"

The team scattered, dodging through the trees as chaos erupted. Olivia and Gibbs ducked behind a fallen log, bullets splintering bark overhead. Penelope and Sylvester sprinted for the van, clutching the hard drives and camera feeds.

Michael and Samara created a diversion, setting off smoke bombs and cutting the estate's power. In the confusion, the coalition escaped into the night, the Grove's secrets burning behind them.

Aftermath

Back at a new safehouse, the team watched as news networks exploded with footage of the owl ceremony, the faces of the powerful caught in the firelight. The world reeled as the truth came out—secret societies, corrupted justice, and the law used as a shield for the guilty.

Olivia stared at the screen, exhaustion and triumph mingling in her eyes. "We did it. We showed them what's been hidden for decades."

Gibbs nodded, but his voice was grim. "Now the real fight begins. They'll come after us with everything they have."

Penelope leaned against Sylvester, both of them shaken but resolute. "Let them try," she whispered. "We're not afraid anymore."

Outside, the dawn broke over a world forever changed—one where the truth could no longer be caged by power, and the coalition stood ready for whatever came next.
