Finishing the thesis allowed Sean to breathe a sigh of relief and relax somewhat.
However, it was only somewhat. Currently, Sean still had a Transfiguration thesis that he had just begun writing. Although Professor McGonagall didn't have a habit of verbally attacking people, her attitude toward theses was quite stern. That feeling of repeated rejections and constant problems... like cutting flesh with a dull knife... wasn't much better than Snape's venom spraying.
In short, any professor became absolutely terrifying when it came to theses.
Sean wasn't someone who liked idle chatter, but he was someone who enjoyed spraying venom. Especially when he knew that no one else in the Potions Club had finished their thesis, Sean—the only one who had completed his thesis, the lowest grade level, and the newest member of the Potions Club—became Snape's concentrated ammunition for attacking people. His name, accompanied by mockery and disdain, was sprayed from Snape's mouth and splashed onto everyone in the Potions Club except Sean.
"Some of you are already in sixth year and will be seventh years next year. If I don't see your theses when school starts next year, I will refuse to let you enter my Potions classroom, even if you get an O on your exams!"
Hearing this, everyone in the Potions Club's faces stiffened, clearly feeling a sense of urgency, especially the sixth years, who were almost ready to cry.
Seeing everyone obviously becoming more urgent, a barely perceptible hint of satisfaction appeared on Snape's impassive face. Today's Potions Club also ended in this atmosphere where only Snape was happy.
Snape was the first to leave, dragging his robes behind him. Sean followed closely, preparing to leave, but just then, Jennifer suddenly called out to Sean.
"Sean, want to chat?"
Looking at Jennifer, Sean could roughly guess what she wanted to do. Originally he had no particular thoughts, but on second thought, he stopped and stood in place.
After the others left, Sean looked at Jennifer and said, "If it's still the same things as last time, I don't think there's any need to discuss them."
"Why do you refuse me? Wouldn't bringing down Oliver benefit you at all?"
"Of course I hate that Oliver guy, but I prefer to see him fall under my wand rather than through other means."
Jennifer looked at Sean, feeling somewhat troubled. She had originally thought that since Sean was being targeted by Oliver's faction in the Slytherin Brotherhood reserve organization, he would relent and cooperate with her. However, she hadn't expected that Sean would still refuse to budge.
Perhaps some people thought that Sean, having left the Slytherin Brotherhood reserve organization, was just a genius without any background support and wasn't worth attention.
But while others didn't know, Jennifer was very clear that Gavin Bulstrode's attitude toward Sean was quite intriguing. Although she didn't know exactly what he wanted Sean to do—whether as a whetstone or something else—Jennifer was very clear that regardless of Gavin's intentions, at least during the Hogwarts period, Gavin was Sean's biggest supporter!
So in Jennifer's eyes, Sean leaving the Slytherin Brotherhood reserve organization wasn't a bad thing at all. For her, it was actually a good thing, because it made it more likely to pull Sean into her camp to fight against their common enemy, Oliver Flint!
However, contrary to expectations, Sean showed no signs of being tempted. Could it be that he wasn't someone who held grudges? Could it be that he was a carefree saint? Don't be ridiculous... would such a person come to Slytherin?
"What exactly would it take for you to agree to cooperate with me?"
Looking at Jennifer, Sean smiled with a hint of playfulness: "You both have the surname Flint. If you want me to get involved, you need to at least show me your attitude... a firm attitude that won't change due to blood relations and emotions!
Otherwise, how would an outsider like me dare to get involved in your family's internal affairs? I'm not an idiot, you know?"
"What kind of attitude do you want?"
"That depends on you." Having said this, Sean turned around, waved his hand, and left the Potions Club classroom.
Jennifer watched Sean, her expression unreadable, not knowing what she was thinking.
Walking out of the Potions Club classroom, Sean pondered what had just happened.
He originally hadn't planned to get involved in the Flint family affairs, but then he reconsidered... some things might not be unusable for his own purposes.
The Slytherin Brotherhood was an organization with considerable influence, mainly because Slytherin graduates were more or less willing to give them face, as long as it didn't touch their own interests.
So Sean didn't plan to give up on the Slytherin Brotherhood. However, unlike before, when he had wanted to gradually enter the high levels of the Slytherin Brotherhood to gain power, now he wanted to completely control this organization and obtain all of its power!
Therefore, having only Barrett inside the Slytherin Brotherhood was somewhat too weak. Sean wanted to find a subordinate who couldn't be suspected of connection to himself to help him, cooperating with Barrett to gradually control the Slytherin Brotherhood. Currently, Sean's ideal candidate was Oliver!
If he could control Oliver, not only could he lay the foundation for his plan to control the Slytherin Brotherhood, but he could also use Oliver to monitor and backstab the father-son duo of Borell and Marcellus... killing two birds with one stone.
Of course, these things couldn't be accomplished overnight and needed to be done step by step. Sean was currently only in his second year... he had time and energy to complete his plans, and he was quite confident about it.
As time passed, finals gradually approached.
When facing finals this year, Blaise didn't have last year's urgency. This year, he had spent most of his free time in the library with his ex-girlfriend. Although his learning efficiency in the library was mediocre, he had learned some things, and his homework was completed independently under his ex-girlfriend's supervision. Now that finals had arrived, he surprisingly didn't feel pressed for time and seemed to have things well in hand.
Sitting in the library reading, Blaise would space out while reading, smiling at the corners of his mouth as if remembering something pleasant.
Seeing Blaise like this, Sean knew this guy was done for... he had truly fallen in love.
For a former playboy scumbag, falling in love but being unable to obtain what he desired was probably the perfect punishment for his previous irresponsibility in relationships.
Of course, as Blaise's friend, Sean still hoped he could either move on or reconcile with the other party and serve her devotedly... that would also be a decent outcome.
The second school year was almost over, and Sean could already envision the challenges and opportunities that awaited him in the coming year.
