Chapter 150 - Chapter 150: Sudden Arrival!

"This guy..." Kulkan looked at Sean suspiciously, muttering to herself, "This guy acts like he can understand what I'm saying. His conscience finally kicked in, and he had the house-elf get me something to eat."

Pop!

The house-elf returned to the room carrying a tray with three plates—one containing some chicken eggs and unknown bird eggs, and the other two plates filled with fresh beef, mutton, and chicken.

Taking the tray, Sean dismissed the house-elf, then turned to look at Kulkan. As if speaking directly from his throat, he opened his mouth and made hissing sounds.

"You little rascal, you've been badmouthing me in front of my face quite a bit, haven't you?"

Kulkan was shocked. She looked at Sean, her snake face full of disbelief—though how a snake could have such an expression was anyone's guess.

"You can speak my language? No, this is Parseltongue! You can speak Parseltongue?!"

Raising an eyebrow slightly, Sean looked at Kulkan and said, "You know about Parseltongue too?"

"Of course I know. Some magical creatures have bloodline memories, and I'm one of them. But that's not the point—the point is, how did you suddenly acquire Parseltongue?"

"I have a special ability. Whenever I duel with others, I can gain their abilities."

"Tch, if you don't want to say, then don't. Are you trying to fool a snake?"

Shrugging, sometimes the truth was often not believed.

Originally, Kulkan was absolutely reliable to Sean, and he wouldn't mind telling her his biggest secret. But now it seemed she didn't believe him, so there was nothing he could do about it.

Placing the tray in front of Kulkan, seeing the food before her, Kulkan couldn't care about anything else and immediately began devouring it. She had been eating snake food for many years, and now that she could eat this fresh food, of course she had to have a good feast.

Watching Kulkan devour everything on the tray in no time, Sean said with some surprise, "You don't eat snake food this enthusiastically, and you don't eat this much either. Don't stuff yourself. From now on, whatever you want to eat, I'll prepare it for you."

Swallowing the last egg, Kulkan moved her obviously swollen body slightly and said with great satisfaction, "That snake food is mixed with potions, so of course it's very nutritious, but it tastes terrible—only slightly better than dead rats. The potions in it have a satiating effect, so I eat very little."

"Dead rats? You've eaten dead rats?"

Kulkan glanced at Sean and burped, saying, "Of course I have. I was brought from South America to Britain by the owner of a magical creature shop. Before that, I lived in the South American jungle. When I was small, I had to hide and couldn't hunt, so finding dead rats was considered a feast."

"South America and Britain—seems you know quite a lot."

"Don't treat magical creatures like fools, okay? Although many magical creatures indeed don't have much intelligence, I'm different. My bloodline contains quite a lot of things, so I've known many things since I was young. Though it's limited to common knowledge. However, last year when I helped you collect unicorn blood, I instinctively consumed some unicorn blood, which caused some of the inheritance in my bloodline to awaken again, and that's how I learned so much."

Speaking of collecting unicorn blood last year, Sean suddenly remembered that originally Kulkan wasn't as large as she was now, but after collecting unicorn blood last year, Kulkan's size seemed to suddenly increase.

"Can magical creature blood help you develop? You seemed to grow this big after eating unicorn blood last year, right?"

Nodding her snake head lightly, Kulkan said, "That's right, this is my talent. Devouring magical creatures can accelerate my growth. Unicorn blood is the most magical part of a unicorn's body, so after I consumed unicorn blood, I gained tremendous enhancement and growth."

"Any magical creature will do?"

"Of course not..." Kulkan coiled herself into a snake formation with some effort and said, "It has to be magical creatures with vast magical power, like dragons, phoenixes, unicorns, and such. And the more you eat, the gradually worse the effect becomes. However, if they're magical creatures of the same species, the effect is better. So if you want to kill that basilisk, you must take me with you. The basilisk's eyes and blood are great supplements for me."

"You really are eating from the bowl while eyeing the pot."

"What do you mean?"

"I'm praising your good appetite."

"Why do I feel like you're mocking me?"

"Hm? What did you say? I'm not very proficient in Parseltongue yet; I didn't understand what you said."

"You're definitely mocking me!"

Saturday, as usual, went to the Room of Requirement to brew potions.

However, this time Sean brought Kulkan along. Ever since Sean mastered Parseltongue, Kulkan had been like someone who had been holding back for a long time, clinging to Sean in every sense and asking him to take her out for a stroll. Even snakes would get depressed being cooped up in a room all day.

Sean was busy working while Kulkan coiled herself on the table by the window, looking at the scenery outside.

At noon, Sean called house-elves to prepare food for himself and Kulkan, and even had dinner in the Room of Requirement. It wasn't until evening that he finally finished brewing the potions and prepared to return with Kulkan and the potions.

"Sean, is this what you do when you leave early and come back late every day?"

"Only every Saturday. Usually it's mostly attending classes and studying, though the time spent is about the same."

"You really work hard enough. Your strength is actually quite good already. It wouldn't hurt to relax a little, would it?"

"Of course I can relax, but this era doesn't allow people to relax. Some things will come soon, and if I don't have enough strength by then, it'll be dangerous."

"The future? You sound like you can predict the future."

"Maybe I can."

"You..." Kulkan had just said half a word when suddenly Sean could clearly feel Kulkan's body tense up. Immediately after, Kulkan said to Sean, "Sean, that thing is rapidly approaching us. It's about to arrive!"

In that instant, Sean immediately understood what the "thing" in Kulkan's words was.

The Basilisk!

The Basilisk was charging toward him!

That guy Marcellus Bulstrode was actually making his move at this time.

Without any hesitation, Sean immediately ran, and as he ran forward, he also heard continuous sounds of craving for killing and blood coming from within the walls. The Basilisk's speed in the drainage pipes was actually faster than his own. Sean realized he probably couldn't shake off the Basilisk's pursuit!
