Chapter 127 - Chapter 127: Wrestling with the Diary

The words Sean wrote in the diary quickly faded, as if they were swallowed by the diary, and as his words disappeared, another line of text appeared where Sean had just written.

"You are not Ginny. Who are you? Why do you know my name?"

Looking at the words in the diary, a mischievous smile spread across Sean's lips. He picked up the quill and wrote another line in the diary.

"My name is Albus Dumbledore!"

The diary fell silent, as if startled. Sean sat quietly in his chair, waiting for the diary's response.

After a long pause, the diary displayed another line of text.

"You are not Dumbledore! Who exactly are you?!"

"Hehe, you actually saw through it."

"You cannot deceive the great Voldemort!"

"Oh? You have laid your cards on the table. You are not pretending anymore?"

"Since you have already called me Tom, you naturally know my identity. There is no need to keep up appearances."

Sean looked at the diary, thought for a moment, and wrote again: "Alright, then I do not mind telling you my real identity. My name is Draco Malfoy. You should be well acquainted with the surname Malfoy, right?"

"You are Lucius's son?"

"That is right, it is me." When writing this sentence, Sean curled his lip.

"I do not believe it. I do not believe that foolish Lucius would dare to go against my orders, send me to Hogwarts, and then let you contact me."

"Well... believe it or not."

The diary was one of Voldemort's Horcruxes, though Lucius was unaware of its true nature. He only knew that this item held great significance to Voldemort. He suspected it was a powerful Dark Arts artifact. Had Voldemort still lived, Lucius would never have dared to hide the diary among the Weasley's youngest daughter's old books and allow her to bring it to Hogwarts, not even with a hundredfold of his usual courage. However, in Lucius's mind, Voldemort had perished at the hands of Harry Potter.

Recently, the Ministry of Magic, led by the Weasleys, had intensified investigations into Dark Arts artifacts, with Malfoy Manor as a primary focus. Naturally, Lucius no longer dared to keep the diary in his own home. Moreover, Lucius had recently sensed the diary's manipulative power growing stronger, to the extent that even the House Elf in his household noticed something amiss. This only deepened his fear of the diary.

After being placed with Ginny, the diary subtly manipulated and controlled her. Just as Ginny was becoming increasingly obedient and beginning to execute its plans, the diary unexpectedly came into the possession of someone claiming to be Lucius's son, Draco Malfoy. Though the diary doubted the name, it was certain that the cunning and bold individual who possessed it was indeed a Slytherin.

"Whether you are truly Draco Malfoy matters little to me. What matters is your desire for immense power and superiority. If that is your goal, I can assist you!"

Lacking a close friend, Ginny was vulnerable. The diary exploited this, showering her with care and understanding, gradually drawing her under its influence. Now, in the hands of an unknown Slytherin who claimed to be Draco Malfoy, the diary sought to leverage power and influence to control its new possessor. In its view, no Slytherin could resist the allure of power and influence.

While perhaps one-sided, the diary's assumption was not unfounded; Sean did indeed yearn for power and influence. Only through power and influence could Sean protect himself and shape his future as he wished.

Unfortunately, though Sean sought power and influence, he did not trust the diary. His plan was to extract all possible benefits from the diary before finding a way to dispose of it. In Sean's plan, the Chamber of Secrets would be opened, but not by him.

"Power and influence? How much could a diary truly offer?"

"Knowledge and magic are power. With power comes influence."

"So, you can grant me knowledge and magic?"

"I hold all of Voldemort's knowledge and magic. Agree to my terms, and I will share it with you!"

A smile played on Sean's lips. This was precisely why he sought the diary.

Naturally, Sean could not accept those conditions.

"You lack the capital to negotiate. First, teach me some knowledge and magic. Once I am satisfied, we can discuss terms."

"That is impossible!"

"Of course it is possible. If you refuse, I will hide you in a men's restroom. I think you will find that environment quite... stimulating."

"You dare threaten the great Voldemort!"

"Whether Voldemort is great or not, I do not know. You are but a diary, incapable of movement. As long as I am not under your control, you are at my mercy."

After Sean wrote this, the diary fell silent. Sean sat quietly, waiting for the diary's response.

After a long pause, words slowly appeared on the diary's page.

"I can agree to share some knowledge and magic, but you must set a deadline. Otherwise, I would prefer to be hidden in a toilet."

Sean smiled and wrote back: "One month. Within this time, you must share all your knowledge and answer all my questions."

"Agreed."

"Very well. Happy cooperation!"

Sean closed the diary and, ignoring its calls, tucked it safely into his pocket.

Sean would not carry the diary or keep it in his room. Its power to manipulate minds meant he could not afford to lower his guard. Therefore, Sean planned to store the diary in the Room of Requirement, in a secret chamber known only to him. When he needed to communicate with it, he would visit that room, minimizing any risk.
