A troll?
That's right, it was a troll!
At this moment, Sean finally remembered that Harry and the others had encountered a troll, and it was because of this very incident that Harry and Ron truly became lifelong best friends with Hermione.
Sean looked at Quirrell, still lying dramatically on the ground. This guy's acting skills were so exaggerated. He wondered if Dumbledore had noticed anything. He almost certainly had, but he was likely just waiting, wanting to lure the real snake out of its hole without intervening directly. Sean didn't believe for a second that Dumbledore would really just leave the Philosopher's Stone sitting there, so vulnerable. He could guarantee that if it weren't for Harry's involvement, Quirrell, the two-faced monster, would probably have personally learned what the old Headmaster's "love" truly felt like.
"Hiss hiss..."
Sitting at the Slytherin long table, Sean watched as the first-year wizards screamed in panic at the word "troll." He, however, sat quietly in his seat, reaching out to stroke Kulkan, who had emerged from his collar. As he stroked the white snake, Sean suddenly stopped, causing Kulkan, who had been enjoying the touch, to butt Sean's face with her head in clear dissatisfaction.
At this moment, Sean suddenly thought that the reason he had managed to subdue Kulkan before was because he had engaged in a "duel" with her, using the power of his system panel. In other words, his dueling ability wasn't limited to human wizards. As long as a magical creature possessed even a shred of intelligence, he could duel with it.
So, the question became, if he could duel any magical creature, what abilities would he gain if he were to duel that mountain troll?
It couldn't possibly be something like "low intelligence" or "astonishing body odor," could it?
At this time, Dumbledore, in an extremely loud voice, instructed the prefects of each house to lead everyone back to their respective common rooms. Sean only saw this choice as Dumbledore deliberately giving the person trying to steal the Philosopher's Stone an opportunity. Otherwise, Sean simply didn't believe such a brainless decision would be made by someone as brilliant as Dumbledore.
One must know that at this very moment, the vast majority of students were gathered in the Great Hall. The teachers only needed to guard the Great Hall to ensure the safety of most students. As for the few students who might not have been in the Great Hall, they could be searched for personally, or the staff could simply go directly to the troll and deal with it. To deliberately scatter the students when they knew there was a troll loose in the castle, there had to be other considerations involved; it would be utterly strange if there weren't.
Students from the four houses followed their prefects, scrambling to run outside. They were all eager to return to the safety of their house common rooms. In the minds of most students, the common room was a completely safe place. As long as they could get back to the common room, go back to their rooms, lie in bed, and pull the covers over their heads, they could somehow avoid the threat of the rampaging troll.
The young wizards were impatient to leave the Great Hall, which inevitably caused a degree of chaos. Although the prefects were attempting to maintain discipline, it was not difficult to slip away in such a situation.
Sean watched Gryffindor leave one step ahead of Slytherin, knowing that Harry and Ron would likely be ahead of him. He only hoped that Harry and Ron wouldn't go too fast; otherwise, by the time he got there, the troll would have already been dealt with, and he would have wasted his trip.
After all, this course of action risked being deducted points. If he gained nothing from it, it would be a huge loss.
The Great Hall was on the first floor, and the Slytherin common room was in the dungeons below. As the Slytherin group turned to descend into the dark underground staircase, Sean took two quick steps and slipped out of the line, running in the direction Harry and Ron had gone.
Sean remembered that the troll and Hermione were in a girls' public restroom, and he knew there was one located on the second floor.
Thinking of this, Sean immediately headed up the stairs. Before he even reached the second floor, he was assaulted by an odor that was simply astonishing, a fermenting latrine pit smell that took his breath away.
In that instant, Sean knew he had found the right place. He quickened his pace again. When he saw the girls' restroom ahead, he immediately heard monstrous roars and terrified screams coming from inside.
Ignoring everything else, Sean rushed in and immediately saw a tall, burly, and incredibly ugly mountain troll. It was holding Harry by the leg in one massive hand and swinging a huge wooden club in the other, bringing it down towards Harry's body.
Meanwhile, Hermione and Ron were there. One was collapsed on the ground, screaming loudly, and the other was standing frozen in a corner, completely at a loss.
Perhaps, given enough time, Ron would still use magic to defeat the troll and save Harry. But Sean didn't dare to gamble on whether his presence as a butterfly would change the original plot in this matter. Besides, the reason he had come here was to trigger a duel between himself and the troll. He had to act before Ron did!
"Wingardium Leviosa!"
Following the events as he remembered them, Sean attempted to use the Levitation Charm to control the troll's club. But the troll kept swinging the massive weapon, making it impossible for Sean to cast the spell accurately.
He really didn't know how the original Ron had managed to aim so precisely at that club!
Cursing inwardly, Sean switched tactics and used the Petrification Curse, trying to immobilize the troll's arm. But to Sean's surprise, although the troll was not as magically resistant as a giant, its thick hide still provided a significant defense against magic. His LV1 Petrification Curse could not effectively stop the troll; it only caused its arm to pause slightly, while the club in its hand continued its deadly swing towards Harry.
"Ron! Sean! Think of something, quickly!" Harry yelled, dangling upside down.
Hearing this, Ron seemed to suddenly remember something. He raised his wand, preparing to cast a spell on the troll. Seeing this scene, Sean immediately became nervous.
Tsk, this guy, Sean thought, he wouldn't be trying to steal the kill, would he?
"Wingardium Leviosa!"
"Wingardium…"
"Winga…"
Using the Levitation Charm repeatedly, this time Sean aimed not at the club in the troll's hand, but at the large debris from the surrounding broken restroom doors and walls. A large amount of splintered wooden structures flew up and smashed into the troll's body one after another, finally making the troll extremely angry. It backhanded Harry away, sending him flying across the room, and strode towards Sean, swinging its club menacingly!
Looking at the troll lunging towards him, Sean immediately felt a suffocating sensation wash over him. This feeling of suffocation was not just from the mental pressure of the imminent attack, but also from the physical assault of the creature's overwhelming body odor. Watching the club swing towards him, Sean took a step back and used the Shield Charm to block the club's attack head-on!
Seeing the blue glow of his Protego successfully resisting the club in the troll's hand, Sean didn't hesitate. He immediately cast the Thorn Curse. A large number of thorny vines grew from the ground at the troll's feet, wrapping around its thick legs. Sean took this opportunity to run to the other side of the room, luring the troll to chase him.
As expected, the troll's already not-so-bright mind made it immediately chase after Sean, ignoring the thorny vines entangling its feet. Although the troll snapped many of the thorny vines with its powerful strides, it still tripped and fell heavily to the ground with a thunderous crash.
At this moment, Sean cast the Levitation Charm on the club that was about to slip from the troll's hand, lifted it high into the air, and then slammed it down hard onto the back of the troll's head!
