A pair of elegant feet stepped out of the shower. The faint ringing of the doorbell echoed through the apartment. Daiyu sighed, deeply irritated by the disturbance. She wondered which of her neighbours had come calling at this late hour.
She swung the door open, then stepped back in shock at the sight of who was there.
"Ivan, I wasn't expecting to see you." Her heart raced as a warm smile crept up her face.
A gentle, warm smile beamed on his face. "I'm sorry I didn't let you know I was coming. I just wanted to surprise you."
She felt disoriented, unsure of what to do next. All she could do was stare at Ivan, with an unmistakable glee in her eyes. She didn't notice that his right hand was hidden behind him, clutching a bundle of rose flowers.
"I got this for you." Ivan presented the bundle of flowers.
Daiyu received the flowers, momentarily speechless. "Thank you. That's so sweet of you."
