Evelyn had been running away now, and she was out of breath. She wondered what was happening back there. Was Luca safe?
He did say there was a little bit of time before Valerio would be back. Did he manage to erase the CCTV cameras?
By her calculation, it should be almost an hour by now and Valerio should only be arriving home. And if he had, she was sure that she'd run far enough. So by the time he found out she was missing and sent men to find her, they wouldn't be able to find her.
The thing though was that this place was isolated. She'd been running for a while now and she hadn't seen a single soul. She was even on a bridge which was clearly meant for cars, yet no one was driving by or even walking by.
What was going on and where in the world was she?
Who was she supposed to find in this deserted place that might even have a phone?
Walking over to the railings, she looked down, pausing at the sea beneath.
