Chapter 119 - Monster Zero

Surface World – Antarctica

Thousands of miles away, the frozen continent groaned beneath a storm of snow.

Amid the blizzard, a vast shadow cut across the sky, the Monarch's aerospace carrier Argo, descending toward a newly built outpost.

Inside the command deck, Vivian leaned toward the viewport.

"Dr. Serizawa, we're approaching Outpost Thirty-Two."

Dr. Ichiro Serizawa adjusted his glasses, his gaze distant and uneasy.

"Begin descent. I want eyes on the specimen immediately."

The Argo's turbine engines flared, kicking up snow as it landed beside the outpost.

The ground teams rushed to secure the area as Serizawa, Vivian, and Dr. Stanton stepped out, braving the biting cold.

Outpost 32 was newly constructed, a ring of reinforced steel domes built around a single purpose: to contain what lay beneath the glacier.

Inside, they took the elevator down to the lowest level.

The air grew colder, the lights dimmer, until the elevator doors opened to reveal a cavern of blue ice.

There, encased within the glacier, was a dragon.

Its body stretched across the entire chamber, frozen mid-snarl.

Three long necks rose from its torso, each ending in a horned, snarling head.

Its scales gleamed like molten gold under the lights, and its wings, vast and regal, were spread wide as if defying the storm.

Two long tails coiled around its legs.

Vivian's breath fogged.

"My god…"

Stanton stepped closer, eyes wide.

"It's enormous. Bigger than Godzilla. Bigger than Miraluz."

Serizawa stared silently.

"Height, one-hundred-sixty meters. Wingspan, over five hundred. Weight, fourteen thousand tons. No known species in our Titan registry matches this morphology."

He turned to Vivian.

"Do we have a designation?"

"Not yet. The team that discovered it… they called it Monster Zero."

The name hung in the air like frost.

Stanton swallowed.

"What do you think, Doctor? Is it alive?"

Serizawa looked at the faint flicker of golden light deep inside the ice, a pulse, almost imperceptible.

He frowned.

"I'm not sure I want to find out."

Dr. Ichiro Serizawa stood before the glacier, his breath misting in the frigid air.

Even through the thick glass, the sight before him sent a shiver crawling down his spine.

Encased in the blue ice lay the colossal form of a three-headed golden dragon.

The creature's heads rested in eerie stillness, mouths half open, fangs glinting faintly in the light.

Though no movement came from within, the sense of presence was overwhelming, a sleeping god imprisoned beneath the world.

Serizawa adjusted his glasses, his voice low.

"Even dormant… he radiates power."

Vivian swallowed hard beside him.

"We've run every scan possible. No movement, no heartbeat, no electrical activity. But—"

She hesitated.

"The ice around him… it's not melting naturally. It's regenerating."

Stanton looked up from his readings.

"It's as if the glacier's alive. Like it's keeping him contained."

Serizawa's gaze didn't leave the creature.

"Or protecting the world from what's inside."

The dragon's golden scales shimmered faintly beneath the frost.

Each of its three heads seemed to face a different direction, one skyward, one downward, and one toward the observers.

Even in its slumber, the sense of intelligence, of intent, was undeniable.

"This isn't just another Titan," Serizawa murmured.

"This… is an apex among Alphas."

Vivian nodded uneasily.

"For now, we've classified him as Monster Zero."

Serizawa's expression darkened.

"If he wakes… humanity will face a storm unlike any before."

Outside, thunder rolled across the Antarctic plain.

For a moment, Serizawa thought he saw a flicker of golden light pulse deep within the ice, faint, like a heartbeat. Then it vanished.

He turned away.

"Seal the chamber. Double the monitoring."
