Chapter 3 - APPEARANCE OF A GOD

[The Earth Alliance President, Trish, stepped up to Void Commander and became a core member of the Arlean Army. He was the first pure human to achieve this rank. His lifespan now extends to thousands of years, giving humanity unlimited hope.]

[The 13-year-old prodigy, Jin, the son of a human and an Arleanian, became a Void Warrior. He is now returning to the main planet of the Arleans to receive further training.]

[The planet Venus was attacked by unknown pirates while mining for Void crystals. Is this another civilization challenging the Arlean rule? or just another rebel group on the rise?]

[The Arleans are recruiting talent, offering absolute immunity on Earth and citizenship within the Arlean territory.]

[The rebel organization Blue Alliance struck again, causing destruction to multiple base cities. The Arlean Embassy and Earth Alliance Government set up a massive reward pool for any concrete information about the said rebel organization.]

Walking out of his house, Nash looked at the newspapers plastered to the walls.

Although he was only 15 years old and had nothing, the body he transmigrated into was a genius.

Surviving as an orphan for as long as he could remember, his predecessor could be described as a prodigy. Using his innocence and willpower, he managed to survive in the cracks of this chaotic world.

He also had enough intelligence to recognize words just by listening to people passing by, reading news and advertisements on the signboards.

Even Nash couldn't help but admire his predecessor's prodigious talent.

Unfortunately, tragedy often strikes the impoverished.

Although he was clever, the nature of the world was unforgiving and illogical.

Besides possessing a genius mind, his predecessor possessed the appearance of a god, despite being tattered with only skin and bones; his inherent appearance couldn't be hidden in the slightest.

One day, while working at a scrap station in search of food, the leader of the Steel Bone Gang, a woman, accidentally caught sight of him without his disguise.

Wanting to possess such beauty, she coerced him into being her follower.

However, his predecessor was a prideful man. Despite his poverty, he never begged anyone for anything.

Still, knowing he couldn't fight with his feeble body, he lied and agreed to the woman's demands.

Fortunately, before he could be captured like a leashed cattle, a mysterious power arrived.

Seeing the chaos, Nash quickly took his chance to escape.

Fearing for his life, he hid in the slums for days and weeks, until his food supply was depleted.

Hoping to find something to sustain him, he went out sneakily in search of hope.

Unfortunately, fate was determined to mess with him.

As he searched for food, the Steel Bone Gang seemed to be everywhere, looking for him.

Seeing the menacing group of people about to surround him, he took a quick bolt toward the slum.

Familiar with the place like the back of his hands, he managed to escape yet another disaster.

Knowing that the local gang was looking for him, he planned to hide in hibernation for a little longer.

Soon, however, unable to withstand the hunger, he ventured out again.

What his predecessor didn't expect was that this would be his last sight of the world.

Overcome by hunger, he collapsed and died on the ground.

"What a pitiful fellow. If you've only gone out a little earlier." Nash sighed at the tragedy of fate.

Suddenly, as Nash was daydreaming, he overheard two people talking at the intersection.

"Jakob, do you think that pretty boy is already dead?" Scar, a man with a disfigurement across his face, asked.

"Hah, that little brat? He should still be alive. A rat in the sewer wouldn't die of hunger," Jakob, the muscular man beside him, said.

"Tsk, I wonder what kind of charm he had? From our previous leader to now, they all wanted this unknown vagrant!"

"I don't understand it either. Isn't it just good skin? With that kind of feeble body, that boy might not even last a minute in bed."

"Watch your words, our new leader seemed different. If she got a gist of your words, your head might be cut off…"

"Hiss-" Scar held off his neck, shivering in the cold.

Although the leader who took over the Steel Bone Gang was a beautiful celestial woman, one look was enough to send them to hell.

Thinking of those veteran members of the gang who died resisting the change in regimen, the two quickly stop their conversation.

However, as they turned toward the intersection, the devil that they were talking about appeared.

"Am I seeing things? Is that the pretty boy we were just talking about?"

"You see it too?"

Turning toward each other, excitement was visible in their eyes.

"Hahaha, we hit the jackpot! I didn't expect we'd pick up money while walking."

"Enemies do meet on a narrow road..." Nash thought with a sigh.

Although he heard them, he was too weak to run or hide.

Nash also forgot to disguise his face, so it was easily recognizable.

After all, his mind was already occupied by the runic space and eroded by hunger; how could he still think of his appearance?

Thinking of his appearance, he was no longer grateful to God for giving him a pretty face.

It was like a disaster plastered on his body, wanting to put him to death.

"Boy, it's your lucky day. Come with us to meet our gang leader!" Scar said, grabbing his arm.

Not wanting to put his safety in others' hands, Nash deftly dodged the grip and slowly backed away.

"I won't go. Tell your leader not to bother me anymore," Nash said coldly.

Although Nash was not as stubborn as his previous body had been, remembering their so-called leader's appearance, he wanted to puke.

While he could eat termites for survival, he wouldn't compromise on such matters even in death.

"Boy, don't be ungrateful. As long as you follow us, you'll have a lifetime of wealth!" Jakob said through gritted teeth.

"No, I don't need anyone's charity. I can fend for myself."
