Queen Diana just stared at her son in pure disbelief. She could not believe what was happening right now—was he actually reading a book? Now, of all times! At least, on the bright side, he was dressed, so they could leave. That was the best thing about this.
"Zavren, you got me so worried! Don't you know we are supposed to be at the ball now? Given that we are royals, you have to understand that," she said, as Zavren calmly nodded, his face composed and controlled. He entered the room, leaving the door open, and gently placed the book on his bedside table. He walked back to where his mother and brother stood outside and calmly spoke:
"I apologize, Mother, if I have caused you any worry."
Queen Diana calmly nodded. She could not even stay mad at him; he was so respectful. The way he had not even tried to explain himself, and had just agreed, made Diana certain he was going to be a very gentle man.
