Riella knelt on the floor, being punished by the head maid. The maid had discovered that she had slept in a prince's room. Even though she wanted to explain that it was the prince who had made her lie there, it still felt like she was lying…because who would believe that?
It had never happened before—not to mention, of all people, the vampire prince. This prince was very unapproachable. She had been kneeling for what felt like hours, and her knees were already hurting. The floor where she knelt was bumpy, littered with stones, making it even more painful.
The more she moved to relieve the pain, the worse it became. She could not help but blame herself for sleeping so well on his bed. But could anyone really blame her? The bed had been so soft and welcoming; in fact, it seemed the bed itself had welcomed her—and now it seemed she had overstayed her welcome.
Not to mention, she had not seen her fellow maids since the incident, when she had been taken away by the guards.
