After all the demi-human soldiers who tried to kill Alvaric and Velka were slain, Lyrith shifted her focus entirely to Alvaric.
The three of them were now tending to Alvaric, Serya, and one demi-human soldier. That soldier had already become a corpse, yet Velka still gave him the same treatment.
What she did was futile, but she continued nonetheless. It was her way of showing gratitude to the soldier.
However, Lyrith could not understand that.
"Are you stupid?" she scolded.
Marie, who heard Lyrith's words, immediately grabbed her hand and shook her head. She even whispered, asking Lyrith to mind her words.
But instead, Lyrith tilted her head.
"Isn't that just wasting the medicine we brought?" she complained again.
Marie slapped her own forehead. She had tried to explain, but Lyrith still did not get it. The air grew tense until Velka finally spoke.
"I'm sorry," she said softly. "I know it's pointless. I'm sorry… but please, let me do this!" she pleaded.
