Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Outcast

Some humans disappeared from the world. They were summoned to another world to be tempered into stronger beings. Some became immensely powerful Mages, cruel assassins, mighty sword warriors, and others. Afterward, they were sent back to Earth to battle monsters that emerged every day through dungeons within mysterious portals.

But Alvaric Zorvok was not summoned to the world he was supposed to be in. He appeared in a different world. A place so barren—nothing existed there except cracked earth, endless sand, and five scorching suns. A place so unbearably hot, it felt like being roasted alive on a furnace without any protection.

Alvaric wore only simple clothes: a thin T-shirt, shorts, and sandals. The moment of summoning was utterly random. People could be called anytime—even while taking a dump in the toilet. When he arrived in that world, a yellow liquid rushed out of him, making others scream in disgust.

It was humiliating, but Alvaric thought it was still better than being stranded alone in this godforsaken wasteland.

"What am I supposed to do now?" he muttered in despair.

He stood there, dazed, for what felt like an eternity. There was nothing—no shelter, no resources, not even a single blade of grass. Alvaric scratched his head, realizing his fate was sealed. No people. No food. And worst of all… no water as far as his eyes could see.

"Did they send me here just to die?" That was the only thought in his mind.

He clicked his tongue in frustration. He couldn't just stand still—he had to move. But the moment he tried to take a step…

BZZT!

A shimmering holographic screen suddenly materialized before him, its glowing blue text searing into his vision. The sight was bizarre… yet oddly familiar.

[New World System – Activated]

[Name: Alvaric Zorvok]

[Race: Human (Outcast)]

[Class: None]

[Level: 1]

[HP: 100/100]

[MP: 10/10]

[Stamina: 50/50]

[Strength: 5]

[Agility: 4]

[Intelligence: 3]

[Luck: 100]

[Skills: None]

"Hah? They didn't even give me a single skill? Not even a weapon? And my Class is 'None'? This has to be a sick joke! They really are trying to kill me!" Alvaric spat bitterly.

He couldn't believe what he was seeing. Every stat listed was just the bare minimum of a normal human. Stranded in an unknown world with zero power? This was beyond insane. Whoever did this to him was undeniably a devil in disguise.

Yet… his gaze lingered on one stat: [Luck: 100].

A hundred. That was an absurdly high number for a Level 1. Would it increase later? He had no idea. But right now, without any skills or weapons, luck was just a useless decoration.

"This… really is the end for me."

[Beginner Mission]

[Slay 100 Monsters]

[Progress: 0/100]

[Reward: Class Unlock, 100 XP, Random Skill]

[Warning: Failure to survive will result in soul deletion. Proceed with extreme caution.]

"Yeah, no shit. Like I needed a reminder," Alvaric scoffed.

If he died here, it meant true death. This wasn't a game, even if it had a system resembling one. Stories of summoned heroes were already widespread back on Earth—Alvaric had heard them a thousand times, to the point of boredom.

Then—

BOOM.

The ground trembled violently. From the distance, inky-black shadows began crawling out from beneath the sand—grotesque creatures with glowing red eyes and razor-sharp claws. They slithered toward him, their movements unnatural, their intent unmistakably hostile.

[Monster Detected: Sand Crawlers (Level 1)]

"Hah?! Right now?!" Panic surged through Alvaric's veins. He wasn't ready! But the monsters were already here. "Dammit! I need a weapon—anything!"

His eyes darted around frantically. Nothing. Only a jagged rock nearby. He grabbed it without hesitation.

[Item Acquired: Stone (Attack +1)]

"+1?! That's it?! This is just—" No time to complain. The first Sand Crawler lunged.

Alvaric barely dodged, stumbling awkwardly before striking back. The rock pierced the monster's exoskeleton but didn't kill it. His muscles remembered fragments of the martial arts training he'd taken back on Earth—his movements, though stiff at first, gradually sharpened. He weaved through attacks, exploiting openings to land precise counterblows.

"Not strong enough!" he growled.

He kept attacking, dodging, waiting for the perfect moment—then—CRACK! A critical hit! His rock smashed directly into the Sand Crawler's skull, dealing double damage. Seeing this, Alvaric focused all his strikes on their heads, finally killing one after a brutal struggle.

[Progress: 1/100]

"Still 99 left…" he panted.

And these were just Level 1 monsters—the weakest of the weak. Knee-high scorpion-like abominations with serrated pincers and barbed tails. Non-venomous, but their strikes drew blood. Alvaric's legs and arms were already littered with cuts, his HP dropping steadily.

"Damn it…" he hissed as blood dripped from a deep gash.

Thirty minutes later, Alvaric had somehow defeated ten Sand Crawlers. But his body was a mess—bruised, bleeding, and exhausted. Worse, his stomach growled violently. Starving, he made a desperate decision: eating the monsters' flesh.

The moment the putrid meat touched his tongue, he nearly vomited.

"Tastes like… dog shit mixed with rotten eggs…"

But he had no choice. No food meant death. Gritting his teeth, he forced himself to swallow, gagging with every bite.

After the horrific "meal," Alvaric stood up, trembling. He had to keep moving. Find more monsters. Survive.

Yet, one fear gnawed at him: Giant Sandworms. The apex predators of deserts.

"Please… don't let me run into one of those—"

WHOOSH!

The sand beneath him exploded.

A nightmarish shape erupted from the depths—a gargantuan, segmented body lined with rotating teeth, its maw large enough to swallow a car. Its sheer size dwarfed even a bus.

"You've gotta be kidding me… A GIANT SANDWORM?!"

[Monster Detected: Giant Sandworm (Level 40)]

Alvaric's blood turned to ice.

Fighting it was suicide. At Level 1 with only 67 HP left, a single strike would erase him from existence. Only a complete moron would stand their ground.

"SCREW WHOEVER BROUGHT ME HERE!" he screamed, turning on his heels and running for his life.
