Elena's POV
"But will it matter?" I said quietly. "Even if we catch them, they've already signed deals, made alliances, stolen things that belonged to my family. They're not trying to beat me in court, Julian. They're trying to erase me altogether."
He turned. "Then we remind them who you are."
I looked up, tired. "And who is that?"
He came closer, kneeling in front of me.
"The woman who came back from the dead. The one they couldn't kill, couldn't break, and sure as hell won't silence. You don't need a boardroom to win this war, Elena. You just need to want it."
My throat tightened. I did want it.
I just didn't know if I had the strength to keep wanting anything.
Then my phone buzzed.
Damian.
Just a name I should've blocked. Erased. Hated.
I stared at the screen, debating.
Julian raised an eyebrow. "Are you going to answer that?"
I did.
"Hello?"
