The air in the capital was electric. After the catastrophic battle, the relief and excitement were boundless. The city was festooned with banners and garlands, buzzing with guests from every corner of the Human Kingdom.
Notable in their absence were the Wendigo King and the elf Queen, a political snub that only elevated the local celebration. The commoners were the happiest; to them, Sunny's origin as a "non-human" mattered less than his deeds. He was their champion and savior.
Yet, while the kingdom celebrated, the focus of the day was asleep. Sunny was still in the royal castle, deep in a slumber. The forced breakthrough to the Seventh Order—the permanent integration of the Primordial Stone power—had taken a heavy toll on his body, demanding a full day of recuperation.
