Before Sunny could articulate the profound shock of her exponential power-up, Josephine acted. She pulled him toward her, closing his lips with hers in an immediate, untamed kiss that spoke of primal hunger. The cold calculations of power rankings evaporated instantly.
Sunny relaxed into the embrace. He gently picked her up, never breaking the kiss. With a thought, a gateway shimmered open, and he stepped through, landing them back in the familiar luxury of their bedroom in the golden castle.
He separated from the kiss just long enough to lay Josephine gently on the bed. The white glow in her eyes and hair was gone; she was his Josephine.
"Sunny, I need you," she whispered, staring up at him with frank, complete lust. "I need you to get these off of me," she mumbled, gesturing vaguely at her clothes.
