-Devil Physiology (Chainsaw Man–Type):
General Abilities:
Rein possesses all the standard abilities of a Chainsaw Man–type Devil. These include Fear Empowerment (rooted in the concept of "Humans"), regeneration through blood consumption, supernatural physical attributes, contract creation, and devil reincarnation.
Because the structure of Hell in the DxD world differs from that of the Chainsaw Man universe, Rein's reincarnation follows a unique rule: whenever he is killed, he will reincarnate on Earth, but his memories and personality will reset completely.
Rein does not possess a "soul" in the human sense. Instead, his existence is centered around a conceptual core, the embodiment of a feared concept given physical form.
As such, the only true way to permanently kill him would be to erase his concept from existence itself, such as through Pochita's erasure ability.
Unique Abilities:
As the Human Devil, Rein possesses three unique devil powers derived from humanity's collective fear of itself. He has one primary ability, which will be revealed in Arc 3, and two secondary abilities, listed below.
-Synergy:
A conceptual ability that allows Rein to merge with, possess, and empower entities whose existence embodies a concept created by humanity.
Upon activation, Rein may either assume control or allow the target entity to assume control while merged. Also, during the merge, Rein is restricted to using only the abilities, powers, and limitations of the entity he is merged with, alongside abilities inherent to his existence as the Human Devil.
Furthermore, this ability greatly amplifies the target's conceptual effectiveness rather than Rein's own.
-Shapeshifting:
Rein is capable of freely altering his physical form, allowing him to assume any appearance he desires as long as the form is human enough. He can perfectly mimic the appearance of other individuals, though this ability is limited strictly to outward form; it does not grant him their abilities, powers, or their supernatural traits.
Rein can also shift between genders, though he strongly prefers a male form due to his original identity. Also, the effectiveness of his mimicry scales with his overall strength. The stronger Rein becomes, the more difficult it is for others to discern that he is not the original.
