Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: Aftermath

Forty minutes later Jack, Misty, and Nessa were walking back to Gio's Battle Club, all of them walking rather gingerly after the intense lower body workouts they'd put themselves through in the back room of the strip club. Jack felt quite sore in his midsection, something that was almost welcome to him as he finally didn't have a raging hard-on popping up every ten minutes. "Finally tired it out I guess," he thought to himself. The memory of his events with Marnie were filled with intense pleasure, but the specifics had become rather hard to remember. Everything had sort of blended together into a multi-orgasmic fever dream. He remembered handing her 2 grand as a thank you for the time, and she'd kissed him goodnight, telling him "We'll see each other soon" before slipping them out a back door.

Misty and Nessa both started giggling loudly next to him and his focus returned to the present. The two girls were arm in arm and talking excitedly. Nessa had a long coat on, covering up her incredibly skimpy working outfit. "I suppose after sitting on a girl's face, you get pretty close to them," he smiled, amused.

"What's so funny?" Misty asked Jack, a mock-accusing tone.

Jack's grin widened. "Either of you need a breath mint?"

Misty thought for a second, but Nessa tensed up. "Yeah," Nessa said before peeling away from Misty's grip and started walking quickly to the mini-mart they were about to pass on the sidewalk.

"Wait for me!" Misty called out as she followed after. Jack figured he could use some stuff as well, and a few minutes later they were leaving the mini-mart with water bottles and breath-mints for all three of them.

Returning to Gio's Battle Club, they bypassed the long line of entrants, the bouncer waving them on. Jack, Misty, and Nessa bee-lined for the bar Shelly was working at. Jack eyed the bar, but saw a male bartender there instead.

"Maybe she's on her break," he said, and Misty and Nessa both lost some pep in their step. "Wanna get food then? Bet she'll be back when we are."

"Yeah sure," Misty replied.

The counter to order was on another floor of the complex, so they hurried down an elevator and found the line for food, grabbing menus as they hopped in the queue. Five minutes later they were sitting down catching glimpses of the battles while Jack held on to a buzzer that was supposed to go off when their food was ready to picked up from the counter.

Between watching the battles and chowing down on some greasy food, Jack didn't speak much. Misty and Nessa chatted away, becoming fast friends. Suddenly a well dressed bouncer came up to the table and leaned next to Jack.

"Mr. Cobal, we've got a woman who tried to pay $500 to get in the building tonight. She just recently left the G-Spot down the street from what we hear," the man said lowly. "We think she knows you," the man held up his smart phone and sure enough, there was Hilda, very upset.

"Yeah," Jack said, his mood dampening. "She in line now?"

The bouncer shook his head. "She's no longer allowed entry to the building. Figure she'll make a scene."

Jack chuckled. Giovanni didn't fuck around about Jack being protected. Jack grabbed a few spare twenty dollar bills and handed them to the bouncer. "Thank you, and apologies for the trouble," he said.

The bouncer nodded. "You're very welcome Mr. Cobal, and don't sweat it, staff's used to it."

The bouncer left quickly, putting the money is his pocket. "How did she find out I was at the strip club?" he thought silently. Nessa eyed him curiously, and Misty took a sip of water.

"What's that about?" Nessa asked.

"My babysitter," Jack replied.

"I thought you said she was your assistant?" Misty asked.

Jack smirked. "She keeps an eye on me in the name of the company. When we're on the same page, she's my assistant."

"And you two aren't on the same page," Nessa put together.

"Not at the moment. I'm supposed to be cooped up at home for the rest of my life," Jack said with a chuckle. "Or at least, that's what would make her job easier."

"Does she have access to your cards?" Misty asked.

"Yeah she does," Jack said, realizing how Hilda had found them. He got a sinking feeling as he realized he'd have to explain the huge expenditure for Giovanni's friendship. Perhaps her inability to enter the club would convince her it might not be a bad idea to be on Giovanni's good side. He decided to explain the situation to Misty and Nessa, how he'd drawn too much attention to himself at the school earlier in the day, and how he left Hilda without a word and without a phone.

Reflecting on it, Hilda had every right to be pissed, as this probably was looking very poorly on her. If she got sick of him, it would probably be Oleana who would come and take a more direct role in his life, he shivered at the thought. "I should be nicer to Hilda," he thought to himself.

"At least let her know you're okay," Misty said. "She probably saw the cash withdrawals at the strip club and panicked."

"Yeah," Jack thought. He didn't like the idea of being captive in his own life, but being a billionaire was never going to be perfect. "Just trying to enjoy the freedom I got... I know everyone in this room would kill me for the life I have now but... I'm still getting used to things."

"Well she's your employee, right?" Nessa asked. "Tell that dumb bitch to fuck off and keep paying her," Nessa cozied up to him, putting her arms around his arm, and her big blue eyes gazing at him passionately, trying to lower his guard. "A man like you can do as he likes."

Something bothered him about the tone and dismissiveness in Nessa's voice. Almost like she was trying to manipulate him.

"Hilda's just looking out for you," Misty began, trying to be the voice of reason. "She's not crazy, is she?"

"Sounds like she is," Nessa chimed in, pushing her boobs against his arms

Jack shook his head. "No she's not," he sighed as the word "overprotective" came across his mind. He nodded. "Misty, let's go outside, I gotta talk to her."

Nessa squeezed his arm. "C'mon babe, she can wait," Nessa cooed, trying to be cute.

"Nessa you can let go," Jack said sternly. Nessa gasped. Jack turned to her. "And I'll see you next time I'm at the G-Spot," he said, then got out of his chair. Misty was soon walking step-by step with him.

"She's a thirsty little gold-digger," Misty said lowly.

"Thought you two were becoming fast friends," Jack said.

Misty shrugged. "She was being pretty fake earlier, showed her true colors right there."

"I was starting to put that together," Jack said. "She managed to corner me at the strip club, and I was pretty drunk so I couldn't say no."

Misty shrugged. "Oh I get it," she said, turning her head to see if Nessa was following them. "She is gorgeous, but I'm glad you didn't give in to her little ego stroking."

"So the strip club, the meal here, it was all an act?" Jack asked.

"Probably a bit," Misty shrugged. "You came inside her, so that was priority one," Misty thought aloud.

"That I did," he said, helplessly cracking a grin.

"She'll be back for more," Misty said.

"I suppose I should put her on the 'do not fuck' list," Jack said with a chuckle as the duo entered the elevator.

"Oh not at all," Misty said. "As long as you keep boundaries with how far you go, you can have a lot fun with her."

Jack smiled. Having Misty around was going to be great.

A minute later he was walking by the bouncers at the main entrance of the club. "I'll be right back, fellas."

"For sure," one of them said with a simple head nod.

The Alolan night air was still quite warm, and a little humid. He didn't mind, it was quite comfy. Jack looked around the sidewalk to see if Hilda was around, and he spotted her hat with pony-tail combo and beelined over, Misty marching beside him.

Hilda looked up from her phone and crossed her arms, then started walking over to meet him.

"Hilda!" Jack called out to her, hoping to start the conversation on a decent tone.

"You fucker!" Hilda called out.

Jack smiled nervously. Misty suppressed a laugh.

"After I spent an hour getting bitched at by my bosses, you leave to get drunk and party with strippers!?" Hilda demanded. "And her-" Hilda pointed at Misty, recognizing her.

"She's helping me," Jack said. "I wouldn't be out here talking to you if it wasn't for her."

Hilda took a deep, angry breath. Standing eye to eye with her, he could tell Hilda had been crying. "You spent a hundred and twelve thousand dollars-"

"A hundred of that went to Giovanni," Jack explained, he pointed to the building. "To gain his friendship."

Hilda rolled her eyes.

"Ask Anabel, Giovanni's a former gangster," Jack said. "He said he knew I was coming to the island weeks ago, and if he could find out, others could too."

Hilda stayed with her hands folded, still scowling.

"He said he's still got his ear to the ground when it comes to the more sinister things in Alola, He'll tip me off if he hears anything relevant to me," Jack explained. "Figure Anabel and Selene would appreciate it as well."

"So you did it for them?" Hilda asked, skeptically.

"No... You couldn't get in the building cuz his staff suspected you were trying to get to me," Jack explained. "They had your picture and asked if I knew you and everything. Things like that are why I paid him."

Hilda sighed. "Then he'll just get dirt on you and ask for more money."

"He's got a comfy thing going on here, I don't see a reason for him to jeopardize it," Jack replied. "And I'll admit, afterwards, I was drunk and horny... Went to the strip club. Stupid and childish of me, I know."

Hilda shook her head. "That's not even the half of it," Hilda said dismissively.

Misty then piped up. "Him leaving his phone at the house wasn't fair to you, Hilda. You're trying to look out for his safety and he leaves you in the dust like that..."

Hilda took a deep breath, studying Misty. "What's your name?"

"Misty Waterflower," she replied, extending her hand to shake Hilda's.

"One moment," Hilda said as she whipped out her phone and typed quickly, then looked up at Misty and nodded. "So why were you a cocktail waitress in an Alola restaurant if you were a pro trainer in Kanto?"

"The grind of the pro trainer circuit was wearing on me," Misty said. "And my sisters kept asking me to join their water-dance performances which... aren't my thing. Came here for a long break, really liked it, decided to stay. Serving helped keep my pokemon fed."

Hilda pondered for a moment. "And you've been his pseudo-bodyguard since he got here?"

"Yeah," Misty replied.

"I hope you're not trying to just seduce him," Hilda warned.

"Oh I already did," Misty said playfully. "But he's a man of large appetites in that department, we've been having a lot of fun with that."

"She knows I'll have other women," Jack re-iterated.

"And you're really fine with it?" Hilda asked.

"Yeah," Misty said, brushing her hand against Jack's shoulders. "As long as he makes time for me as well."

Hilda sighed in defeat. "I suppose I don't have much of a choice here," Hilda said, then went into her purse and pulled out Jack's phone, handing it to him. Her tone shifted back to her angrier side. "You are not to leave the property without this or another way to contact me again, got it?"

Jack nodded meekly. "I got it."

"You're walking on thin-ice with me, okay?" Hilda reminded him. "I need better behavior out of you," Hilda then paused and looked at Misty. "And you're gonna make sure he stays in check."

Misty grinned. "My pleasure."

Jack saw the determined look on both girls' faces and realized this alliance between them had gone over a little too well.

"So, you want to come inside and watch some of the battles?" Jack asked.

Hilda sighed, take a while to collect herself. "Fuck it, might as well."

"There's a trainer I'm scouting for the security team," Jack said as hey turned back to the Battle Club entrance.

Hilda groaned. "Lemme guess, it's a 'she.'"

Misty giggled. "Yeah, she's a legit trainer though."

"I suppose she has a really nice 'body of work?'" Hilda joked.

Jack put his hands up defensively. "I haven't even seen a pic of her, Misty knows her, said she's the strongest trainer in the battle club."

"She's a fierce Dragon type trainer," Misty said.

Hilda smiled. "Okay... So she's battling tonight?"

"In like 20 minutes actually," Misty said.

"Let's get good seats then," Hilda said excitedly.

"One thing," Jack spoke up. "If you're here, who's watching Lillie?"

Hilda smirked. "Anabel and Selene."

"I'm sure that was a fun conversation," Jack said.

"Oh I got to let off a lot of steam," Hilda said with a proud grin. "Sounds like you let off something else with them," Hilda winked. "But they're not going to pull something like that again for you, got it?

"Yeah," Jack said sheepishly.

"Something tells me you haven't let off all of that steam," Misty teased.

"Not even close," Hilda said as the trio re-entered the club, the bouncers not even paying them any attention while a line twenty people long waited besides the entrance.

The atmosphere had gotten more raucous, and the lighting dimmer. Jack led Hilda and Misty back to their table they had reserved for watching the battles. Misty took the spot directly next to Jack. Hilda got on the other side, keeping a noticeable distance between her and him.

An attractive woman with tight jeans, a black bare-midriff, and big red hair passed by, catching Jack's eye.

Hilda giggled before speaking. "And I bet you're already thinking on how she looks with that top off, aren't you?"

"For once, no," Jack said, then pointed to his crotch. "It's finally tired out."

"So how many women did it take?" Hilda said mockingly.

Misty eyed Jack. "Fuck, well," Jack said as he thought through the events of the day since the morning, which felt so long ago at this point.

"Hm..." He pondered, before explaining the events. "I jerked off when I woke up, got a BJ by Serena in the dressing room. After that I went to the trainer school and got lunch with Lillie, which included getting an exquisite blowjob by Misty here," he pointed at Misty, who smiled proudly.

"Let's see... afterwards we went home to meet Anabel and Selene. Got a ride from Anabel while I rode Selene in the back of the car... Got here, banged Misty. Then the strip club, which is a bit more hazy... But I knew I put a couple loads in Nessa," Jack paused. "And Marnie... Not too sure, but I stopped being able to tell I was cumming, I think."

Misty's jaw had dropped, and he caught Hilda with a devilish grin for a second before she regained composure. "So, at least eight times?" he said, counting on his fingers.

"Finally sore?" Hilda asked.

"Yeah," Jack said.

"You said Marnie?" Hilda asked in shock. "The goth-looking, busty one?"

Jack nodded, his eyes widened as he remembered just how ridiculous she was.

Misty raised her hand abruptly. "Excuse me, be right back."

Hilda watched as Misty strutted out out of of earshot from the table, then leaned over to whisper in Jack's ear. "Okay... check your phone. You got a text from Lusamine that I replied to... It might explain something of what's going on with your, y'know," she pointed as his crotch.

Jack whipped out his phone and found the text exchange Hilda was talking about.

Lusamine: Enjoying the gift I gave you yesterday?

Jack: Not sure what you mean, I was really drunk yesterday.

Lusamine: I'm sure you noticed your genitals have grown, the insatiable sex drive, the pheromones.

Jack: Oh that! Yeah, definitely noticed some changes, kinda freaking me out.

Lusamine: No need to be scared Jack, it's an Aether Foundation specialty. You're perfectly healthy. Actually better than perfect. I recommend getting a personal trainer. Your body's been enhanced so to speak. Enjoy the gift, now your duty is to share it with the women of Alola. ;)

Jack's jaw dropped. Hilda cleared her throat. "I wasn't sure how to respond to that, so I just left it on read."

"Gift?" Jack thought aloud. "How had it been given?" he thought long and hard about their meeting, she hadn't drugged him, that he knew of. He hadn't been given an injection... The oddly-dressed people he met coming out of the elevator stood out in his mind though. The man had a raging hard-on, and had un-gloved to shake his hand

And then it all clicked. Lillie making contact with women was clearly doing something to them. Hilda was having these very odd lapses where she had mischievous, or downright lascivious smiles. Anabel and Selene, and he remembered Serena's contact with Lillie as well. Was whatever happening to people who came in contact with Lillie happening to him because he made contact with the strange Ultra Recon Squad guy?

"Jack, you there?" Hilda chided him.

"Sorry, just... thinking about the encounter."

"Any ideas?" Hilda asked.

Jack looked into her blue eyes, he felt far more vulnerable than normal around her at that moment, and something in her eyes made him think she was feeling something slightly similar. He broke their staring contest, unsure if could reveal something he himself hardly believed. "Not really. I'll think on it though."

"Okay," Hilda said, a bit of disappointment in her voice. "So Lillie mentioned something about you making contact with a personal trainer?"

Jack nodded. "Yeah, her name's Bea."

"Let me guess-"

"You're right. She's hot," Jack explained. "But she's also fucking yoked."

"What happened to the old guy strategy so you wouldn't have a raging hard-on during each workout?" Hilda grumbled. "Nevermind... Forget I said anything. I did some looking around for a chef today."

"Oh?" Jack responded. "Anything look good?"

"Well, if you're trying to get in shape and be healthier, I found a hot young thang you'll take a liking to. Her name's Mallow."

"So should we just give her a try and see what happens?" Jack asked.

Hilda shrugged. "Might as well. I already scheduled her for tomorrow."

"Perfect," Jack replied.

"I miss anything?" Misty asked as she sat down and cozied up next to Jack.

Jack peeked down to the battlefield and saw a well dressed man marching to the center. "Looks like the show's about to start."

A voice came over the PA. "And now, Melemele Battle Club League fans, the fourth match on our card is about to begin."

Spot lights hit the battlefield floor at the bottom of the venue. "In one corner, we have Melemele Club League rookie, and local trainer, Oliver Yungsten!" The announcer sounded off over the PA system.

A couple cheers came from the spectators that dotted around the multiple levels of the club, but mostly indifference filled the air. Jack watched the young man stroll out. Jack noticed tense-ness in his posture. He looked at Misty. "He any good?"

Misty checked her phone, Jack watching as she navigated the Battle Club website that had a page for standings on it. "Not really..." Misty said, indicating the 2-5 record.

"...And his opponent, Galar transplant, in her second season in the Club League, give it up for Gloria Shield!"

Misty eyed scrolled up in the standings and found her. "This one's not too bad," he noticed the 4-3 record.

"You know her?" Jack asked.

"Battled her once," Misty replied with a shrug. "Beat her narrowly."

His eyes drifted to Gloria, who had a grey sweater over a short magenta skirt popping out from under it. Atop her brown hair was an odd looking green hat with a white puff on it.

"Galar?" Hilda asked aloud. "Quite a ways from home."

The lights shown brightly on the battlefield, and each trainer called out their first pokemon. Oliver sent out an Alolan-Raticate, it's dark fur being distinctly different from the kind Jack was used to seeing. Gloria sent out a pokemon he'd never seen in person, just in books and on TV, a Toxtricity. It's purple and bright yellow fur made it really stand out.

The referee on the side of the battlefield raised two flags up, then dropped them back to their side to indicate the battle was good to start.

Trainer commands boomed from the PA system as the pokemon sprung into action, as each trainer was mic'd up so the audience could hear their orders. It was now that Jack noticed the battlefield was actually surrounded by an almost invisible plexiglass. His focus tightened on the action to the point the commands were just background noise. Oliver's Raticate made a mad dash over to Toxtricity using Hyper Fang, while Toxtricity unleashed it's signature move Overdrive. A loud noise filled the venue that also sent a streak of yellow, electric, energy across the battlefield. Raticate got blasted back, appearing to take damage, but got right back up and began charging again. Toxtricity took a couple breaths and unleashed another Overdrive, but Raticate easily dodged it, and landing a hit with its Hyper Fang. Toxtricity's hand began to glow as it readied a Drain Punch, but Raticate dashed back out of range.

Toxtricity then went on to unleash a powerful Venoshock. A streak of dark purple energy was shot at Raticate, who jumped skillfully to dodge it. Raticate's head began to glow pink-ish as it used a Zen Headbutt attack. Toxtricity rolled out of the way, and spat a lump of dark purple, a Toxic attack as Gloria had ordered. It connected enough with the Raticate, who quivered as the poison hit its system. "He's got no time to waste," Jack thought, and Oliver had his Raticate charge at Toxtricity with Hyper Fang, connecting. However Toxtricity fired up a Drain Punch and connected, draining health from Raticate and knocking it out. Toxtricity appeared re-invigorated and flexed as Raticate was re-called into it's Poke Ball with a red beam of light.

Oliver sent out an Alolan Muk, multi-colored and massive. The referee's flags were raised until he got a head nod from Oliver, and then the flags went down, signaling a beginning of this match. Muk couldn't move very quickly, the sludge looking pokemon seemingly scooting across the battlefield. Toxtricity let out more Overdrives, but Muk either shrugged them off with Protect or they did minimal damage to bulky pokemon. Once Muk started to come a bit close to Toxtricity, it lifted one of it's arms which had a light purple-ish energy, and Jack heard "Shadow Sneak" be uttered from Oliver over the PA. It's arm suddenly lengthened significantly as Toxtrcitiy went to dodge it unsuccessfully. The match became a grind as Toxtricity and Muk went back and forth, dealing minor damage to each other until Toxtricity was finally knocked out. Jack also noticed the longer Muk was out, the worse the stench got, even with the plexiglass barrier.

Suddenly a hand hit his back pretty hard, and Jack and his companions turned around, and he smiled as he saw it was Giovanni. "I always hate when this guy battles, kills my food sales for a bit."

Jack chuckled. "Maybe you should ban it from the facility, Giovanni."

Misty smiled wide, Hilda got a bit tense.

"It's the only good pokemon he's got," Giovanni said, looking out at the trainer. "Now I bet Gloria brings out her ace."

Jack turned back and saw her toss another Poke Ball onto the field, and out came a tall, lanky, blue pokemon, Inteleon. "That thing hits incredibly hard," Giovanni stated.

Muk used a Shadow Sneak as quickly as it could, which landed, but Inteleon used Focus Energy, making its body light up temporarily. "It's over," Giovanni commented.

"It looks like Inteleon got hit with Poison Touch though," Jack replied. "Inteleon is doomed."

Giovanni grinned. "That Inteleon has the Sniper ability, won't need much."

Gloria growled over the PA, telling Inteleon to hit Muk "Snipe Shot," its signature move.

Inteleon held its hand out, targeting Muk, then unleashed a high pressure stream of water, harder than a fire hose, and blasted Muk. Muk used Protect, so it didn't appear to take any damage, but the attack pushed Muk back.

"Watch this," Giovanni said pointing to Inteleon.

Gloria then commanded Inteleon to use Ice Beam, blasting it with an ice cold streak of energy and landing a direct hit on Muk's body. Muk's movements seemed even slower than before. "I see," Jack realized Giovanni was right. Even with the poison whittling away at Inteleon, Muk could do little else.

Inteleon fired another Snipe Shot, which was blocked with protect, but further pushed Muk back and further out of range of it being able to reach Inteleon. Once Muk's Protect wore off, Inteleon blasted another Snipe Shot, landing a direct hit and ending Muk's battle.

Oliver sent out a Butterfree, and Jack shook his head, turning back to Giovanni. "Looks like you're right."

Giovanni shrugged. "I try to catch most of the battles. I wasn't too bad myself back in the day."

"Do you ever take part in the league?" Jack asked.

Giovanni shook his head. "Conflict of interest stuff. I do battle the winner of each season in an exhibition though," Giovanni explained.

Jack was about to open his mouth, but then Hilda extended her hand. "Nice to meet you, I'm Hilda. Mr. Cobal's assistant."

Giovanni's smile faded. "Nice to meet you," he said, making no effort to mask his dislike. "You owe my bouncers an apology after the hubbub you caused at the front."

Hilda grimaced. "Yeah, not my finest hour. It's been a rough day, Mr. Cobal here ditched me and didn't take his phone, so it took me a lot of sweat and tears to track him down."

Giovanni smirked. "Can't imagine why he'd leave," Giovanni said, his voice oozing with sarcasm.

Hilda grimaced. Jack heard over the PA that the match was over, and turned back to see a felled Butterfree and a triumphant Inteleon.

"So Giovanni, how do you fare in the exhibitions with the winners?" Jack asked.

Giovanni shrugged. "Only lost a couple times. That Masked Royal guy, and the girl coming up next."

"Zinnia?" Jack asked.

Giovanni nodded. "She's a beast. I beat her the first time, she got me the second time."

"It's a shame about her Tyrantrum situation," Jack said.

Giovanni nodded. "All she does is odd jobs around town, lives in a storage facility on the outskirts. Cost of keeping that thing and her other dragons got too much for her, even with the money she earns hanging around here."

"So you've investigated her?" Jack asked.

Giovanni smiled. "I like to keep an eye on powerful trainers on the island. Especially one with as rare and interesting pokemon as hers."

"Think she'd make a good member of my security detail?" Jack asked.

He could feel look of disapproval from Hilda going right into the back of his head, but he ignored it.

Giovanni pondered it for a moment. "Extremely powerful trainer, fiercely loyal to her pokemon... If you were to buy out her deal with the breeders, she'd be able to keep her pokemon. At that point she'd have unquestionable loyalty to you," Giovanni said, shrugging. "Just my two cents."

Jack nodded and turned to Hilda, who even gave him a begrudging nod of agreement.

"I'll set you up with her after her match, meet me down by the first story bar," Giovanni said, then leaned over to whisper in his ear. "The girls at the G-Spot can't stop talking about you. Next time, I expect you'll get even better treatment than today."

Jack smiled. "Not sure it can get much better."

"They'll take that as a challenge dude," Giovanni said, then stood up straight, addressing Misty and Hilda as well. "Enjoy the match, everyone." And he departed.

Hilda waited until he was out of ear shot. "He's got a very intimidating presence," Hilda commented.

"Yeah, if he doesn't like you," Jack replied. "So what do you think, you down to invest in a member of my security detail with 'unquestionable' loyalty?" Jack asked with a shit-eating grin.

Hilda sighed. "Stow it, where'd you even learn the word 'detail' anyways?" She fired back.

Misty giggled. "You two bicker like an old married couple, it's so cute."

Jack felt blood rush to his cheeks.

"I'm gonna use the little girls' room," Hilda grunted in anger.

Once Hilda was out of earshot, Misty gave Jack a wild look. "I got bad news for ya, boss."

"What?" Jack croaked.

"She likes you, she just doesn't know it yet," Misty said.

"Like as in...?"

"In a 'she wants to spread her legs and feel your spirit' sort of way," Misty explained.

"Highly doubt that," Jack replied.

Misty shook her head. "That's the 'she doesn't know it yet' part, dummy," Misty then gave him a kiss. "Trust me, I can see it in her eyes."

"And what do you see in my eyes?" Jack asked, turning to face her eye-to-eye. The two held eye contact for who knows how long, but Misty finally broke the moment by opening her mouth.

Misty smiled. "A good guy... who's still figuring things out."

He had to give her that one. "Probably not too hard to guess. A bit deeper than I thought it would be," Jack said.

"I saw it in a fortune cookie," Misty said with a giggle, and Jack couldn't help but smile and giggle along with her.

"One of my biggest fears is my new wealth making me forget who I was, where I came from."

"You're going through quite a transition," Misty offered. "How much you change will be up to you."

Jack thought on it deeply as memories of his time in Hoenn, his seemingly past life, flooded his mind. Circumstances had changed, but his goals to be a pokemon trainer, do some good in the world, and look out for his family, still guided him. "And as long as they do, I'll still be who I want to be," he thought to himself. "Misty..." Jack began, still feeling bit overwhelmed with memories. "I really needed that. Thank you."

Misty gave him a big, wet smooch. "I'm glad to help."

The two shared a moment, just staring into each other's eyes, and all Jack could think about was her and him. Like them being together could surpass anything they could do individually. At least, that's what his heart felt. The thought crossed his mind, maybe abandon the whole "wanting a harem" thing, but his loins stirring reminded him that may no longer be his decision to make. But he knew he'd always have to treasure Misty.
