Chapter 32 - 27. JUST A STUDENT RIGHT?

CH 28 AVAILABLE ON STCK

CHHAVI'S POV

Sincere apologies for today's nuisance, Miss Rosy.

With respect & love.

Yours,

Drishye.

My hands were literally trembling.

God, why am I being so cynical? It's almost hilarious—the way I overthink everything. This is just an apology letter. From a student. Who's years younger than me, right? Years!

But Miss Rosy...

I folded the note and placed it in my bag. Am I trying to hide it? Why'd I?

Yours, Drishye.

I shook my head vigorously, fussily untying her hair.

God, Chhavi! You're such a weirdo!

You're supposed to be the adult. The professor. The woman getting married in a few days.

Why is a random apology letter from a student taking a toll over your head?

I sighed and looked around my empty office, the silence suddenly deafening.

Maybe I need coffee. Or therapy. Or a slap. Lol!

At this point, I should question myself! My intentions! Like Chhavi do you by chance- the fvck! What kind of a person are you???

Okay! Okay! Let's calm down! Listen, Chhavi. You're clearly overthinking. You need some good sleep. You nee-

Knock. Knock.

Realizing I had my head buried in my palms, elbows dug into the desk, I hastily lifted my head and gazed at the door. And, there he was-!

Smiling!

"May I come in, Miss Rosy?"

Miss Rosy!!!! What's with Miss- Whatever- Rosy!

The door creaked open, further.

What is he doing here?

Why now? Why him?

But, why not him, Miss Rosy?

Wait! WHAT THE ACTUAL FVCKKK! Chhavi!!! Not Miss hell Rosy! Whatsoever!

Calm the fvck down! Okay!!! Okay. Okay. Just act cool.

Act cool! Act cool!

"Come in."

I nodded. Like a complete fool.

He walked in, that ever-so-casual smirk teasing the corner of his mouth, while I stayed frozen in my chair- my gaze wandering here and there except him, as if they've legs of their own.

LOOK AT HIM! IN HIS EYES!

YOU'RE THE GODDAMN PROFESSOR!

He stood across my desk.

"Didn't I already accept your apology? What's with the note?"

I asked, raising a brow.

"Was it offensive?"

He asked, tilting his head and fixing his smoky eyes on mine.

"I didn't mean that, Drishye."

I blinked.

He leaned forward just a little, resting his palms on the wooden surface. The space between us made me feel dangerously small in front of him.

A slow smile tugged at his lips.

"Did it worry you all day? Was I all over your mind- Miss. Rosy?"

There.

I crossed my arms to keep them from trembling.

"You realise you're talking to your professor, right?"

I managed to say. Thankfully my voice didn't shake.

He looked down. I saw his lips stretch to his cheeks.

Without a warning, he looked up, casting his darken gaze on me. My facade of bravery was on danger and the silence worsened the situation.

"Then punish me."

And for a fleeting second, I felt something run down my veins. They were on fire causing my spine to stiffen and electricity run down my feet.

A moment passed. Maybe two. I couldn't form a reply.

I stood up from my chair, hoping that would make me feel powerful.

His smile didn't fade. If anything, it deepened.

"Drishye."

I swallowed.

"Yes, Miss Rosy." God!

He replied with an unnecessary enthusiasm.

"Stay in your limits."

He sighed. Taking a second, he replied.

"Will you let me explain?"

"Sure!"

"I simply wanted to apologize properly since I admire you. A lot. I didn't think it would make you question my intentions. But..." He leaned further, making me step back instinctively even though the desk was standing right between us. And, in a low growl, he concluded. "Since it did effect you more than necessary, I don't regret it."

"What?!"

I was flabbergasted!

"Oh, no?" He questioned, his gaze dropping briefly to my lips. "Then maybe you're just scared you'll start liking what you shouldn't"

I should've thrown him out of the room.

But instead, I just stood there- heart hammering, mouth dry, mind slipping into places it shouldn't.

"You're crossing the line, Drishye."

I warned, even though it sounded more like a confession than a threat.

"And yet, you haven't drawn the boundary."
