Chapter 82 - How Dare You Steal What We Stole First?

A red D-Wheel cut through the small island road, its engine humming steadily, followed closely by three other motorcycles riding in tight formation behind him. Yumi glanced at them, then calmly returned his gaze to the road ahead.

At the edge of the island, instead of slowing down, he drove straight off the cliff, heading directly toward the open sea.

The three Doma members reacted instantly, slamming their brakes and skidding to a stop just short of the edge. Before Yumi's D-Wheel could even touch the water, the bike shifted modes. The rear wheels split open, mechanical panels sliding apart as the flight function activated, and the D-Wheel hovered just above the ocean's surface.

Without hesitation, Yumi kept going, riding smoothly across the sea as if it were solid ground.

Behind him, a large transport plane flew low, matching his direction and speed.

"They really move fast," Yumi murmured to himself, briefly glancing back before focusing forward again.

Although his D-Wheel had the ability to travel through time, Yumi had never fully tested what would happen if he jumped to another timeline and then tried to return to his dimension. Space-time was already unstable enough as it was. He wasn't about to gamble on getting stuck somewhere he couldn't leave.

So for now, no time travel mixed with dimension travel.

After a while, the distant outline of another mainland appeared. Once he reached solid ground, Yumi switched the D-Wheel back to land mode and continued driving without slowing down.

Above him, the transport plane opened its cargo bay.

One by one, four motorcycles dropped out, engines roaring to life mid-air before hitting the ground and taking off after him.

Yumi tilted his head back slightly, seeing the three puppies closing in behind him.

And trailing slightly behind them, Mai Valentine, DM's professional failure as a duelist. A track record consisting mostly of beating NPCs and losing to anyone who actually mattered.

She even lost to someone like Tea Gardner, even if she threw that match, a loss is a loss.

The only time she managed to beat an important character was her final duel against Joey Wheeler, and during that Duel, Joey was already exhausted and nearly collapsed after his previous intense duel.

The guy can barely stand straight, see properly, and even the act of drawing cards has become difficult for him. What makes it even more sad is that Joey could have won if he just used Monster Reborn to bring back Gilford the Lightning instead of Blue Flame Swordman.

What Yumi finds even more funny is that Mai, after the lost from Battle City, was traumatized and suffered from an inferiority complex, knowing she wasn't as good as Duelist and Yugi or Joey. So she willingly submits to the Seal of Orichalcos. Borrow power to try to prove herself as strong.

Borrowed power never proves you're strong. It only proves how weak you already are.

The road ahead opened up into a long stretch of emptiness. They passed a large roadside sign reading SAN FRANCISCO, the letters flashing past in an instant as all five motorcycles continued forward.

The four riders kept chasing, clearly intending to reclaim the God Cards.

Normally, a motorcycle chase like this would be full of sharp turns, near crashes, and dramatic stunts, something straight out of a Fast & Furious movie.

But this was a Yu-Gi-Oh story.

"Let's settle this like Duelists!" While still riding, he pulled out his deck and slid it into his Duel Disk, activating it in one smooth motion.

Doma: "NANI!!?"

Yumi: "DUEL!"

[Yumi, LP 4000]

[Alister, LP 4000]

[Valon, LP 4000]

[Rafael, LP 4000]

[Mai, LP 4000]

Without giving any of them a chance to understand what was happening, Yumi directly initiated a duel on motorcycles with the four of them. And since this was Yu-Gi-Oh, the four of them could only reluctantly accept or give up chasing him.

"I'll go first. Draw."

Yumi drew a card, his eyes briefly scanning it before he casually placed it onto his Duel Disk.

"Spell Card, Take Over 5! I send the top five cards of my deck to the Graveyard!"

The Spell Card materialized beside him, glowing for a moment before shattering apart. Five cards shot out from his deck in quick succession and were immediately sent to the Graveyard.

"Spell Card, Pot of Greed! I draw two cards."

Two more cards slid cleanly into his hand.

"Now I activate the forbidden Spell, Time-Tearing Morganite."

An ominous purple crystal appeared beside him, floating in midair, emitting a faint distortion that made the space around it look slightly off.

"Time-Tearing Morganite's effect. For the rest of the duel, I can't activate monster effects from my hand." He paused briefly, then continued. "But during each of my Draw Phases, I draw two cards instead of one, and I can conduct two Normal Summons per turn."

Yumi shifted his gaze back to his hand, already moving on.

"I Normal Summon, Nurse Dragonmaid."

A card hit the Duel Disk, and a young girl with soft pink hair and small dragonic features appeared beside him. She wore a pink maid uniform with a nurse's outfit layered over it, looking more like hospital staff than anything resembling a traditional dragon.

[Nurse Dragonmaid, 500 ATK]

The sight of the dragonic nursemaid caught the four off guard, since whenever you mention dragons, people would think of those big, powerful dragons like the Blue-Eyes White Dragon.

Not a nursemaid girl with dragonic features.

"Nurse's effect," Yumi continued calmly. "When she's summoned, I can Special Summon a Level 4 or lower Dragon from my Graveyard."

A card shot up from his Graveyard.

"Come out, Kitchen Dragonmaid."

A red-haired woman with red dragonic features appeared next to Nurse, wearing a long black maid outfit with a white apron.

[Kitchen Dragonmaid, 500 ATK]

"Kitchen's effect. When she's summoned, I add one Dragon monster from my deck to my hand, then send one Dragon monster from my hand to the Graveyard."

A card popped out from his deck.

"I add Dragonmaid Ernus," he said, briefly lifting the card, "and I discard Chamber Dragonmaid."

"Spell Card, Dragonmaid Hospitality." He activated another card immediately.

"This lets me Special Summon a Dragonmaid from my hand or Graveyard, then send another Dragon from my deck to the Graveyard."

A white glow formed beside the other two.

"Show yourself, Chamber Dragonmaid."

A mature dragonic woman with snowy white hair stepped forward, dressed in a black maid outfit. Her black dragonic features contrasted sharply with her calm expression.

[Chamber Dragonmaid, 500 ATK]

"I set Dragonmaid Nudyarl to my grave." The card slid into his grave.

"Chamber's effect. When she's summoned, I add a Dragonmaid Spell or Trap from my deck to my hand."

A card jumped straight out of the deck, and Yumi didn't even bother holding it for long.

"I add and immediately activate the Quick-Play Spell, Dragonmaid Send-Off."

The card flashed.

"I return Nurse Dragonmaid to my hand, and Special Summon Dragonmaid Ernus from my hand in Defense Position."

The pink-haired nurse vanished, replaced by a large, gentle-looking dragon with soft pink scales and a nearly fur-like body.

[Dragonmaid Ernus, 1600 DEF]

"Quick-Play Spell, Mask Change II."

Yumi placed down another card.

"I discard one card, target my DARK monster, Chamber Dragonmaid, send her to my grave, and Special Summon a Masked HERO with the same Attribute from my Extra Deck."

Chamber smiled faintly as her body was swallowed by blinding light.

The light burst outward.

When it faded, the dragonmaid was gone, replaced by a black-armored warrior with sharp edges and glowing yellow eyes.

"Henshin! Masked HERO Dark Law!"

[Masked HERO Dark Law, 2400 ATK]

"The card I discarded was Card of Compensation," Yumi added. "When it's discarded, I draw two cards."

He drew two more cards.

"Spell card, Angel Baton, I draw two cards and discard one card." He drew two more card before sending one to his grave.

"I activate Dragonmaid Changeover from my Graveyard. I return Kitchen Dragonmaid to my hand, and add this card back to my hand."

The red-haired maid vanished from the field as her card slid neatly back into the holder on his D-Wheel.

"Spell Card, Dragonmaid Changeover!"

He placed it down again without missing a beat.

"I Fusion Summon a Dragon monster using monsters from my field or hand."

Yumi raised two cards.

"I fuse Kitchen Dragonmaid and the Level 8 Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon from my hand."

Behind him, the red dragonmaid and the massive Photon Dragon appeared simultaneously, flying straight into the swirling fusion vortex.

Yumi revved his D-Wheel, accelerating forward, forcing the four duelists behind him to speed up just to keep up.

"Clear mind! Fusion Summon! Dragonmaid Sheou!"

A massive dragon with black-and-white scales emerged, sharp horns framing her head as her long wings spread wide, flying directly behind Yumi.

[Dragonmaid Sheou, 3500 ATK]

"I Normal Summon the Tuner monster, Effect Veiler."

A young girl with long cyan twin-tails and a white dress appeared, translucent wings made of flowing water forming behind her.

[Effect Veiler, 0 ATK]

"Level 1 Effect Veiler tunes Level 7 Dragonmaid Ernus."

Effect Veiler dissolved into light, transforming into a glowing green ring that circled around Ernus.

"Wishes come together, forming the sparking stars that light the way."

Ernus split into seven orbs of light, the energy converging into a single beam.

[1+7=8]

"Synchro Summon! Level 8 Stardust Spark Dragon!"

A massive white dragon descended, spreading its wings as golden stardust scattered around it.

[Stardust Spark Dragon, 2500 ATK]

"I set one card. Turn end."

Yumi placed his final card down and finally stopped.

His performance of summoning three powerful monsters in one turn was pretty overwhelming.

While the four Doma members were completely stunned.

Just how many monsters did you summon in that one single turn?

How many cards did you draw and add to your hand?

Synchro Summon? What the hell is that?

And why is your monster card white? Are you sure that card isn't illegal?

Where is the referee? We want to report! This man cheats!

The system, however, stayed completely silent. Which meant it approved everything.

The four of them now realized that they may indeed have messed with someone they shouldn't have messed with.

If they still couldn't tell that this duelist was an irregular by now, then their IQ might actually be negative.

Unfortunately for them, backing out wasn't an option.

After all, this was the man who had stolen their stolen God Cards.

How dare you steal what we stole first?

"My turn!" Alister shouted, forcing one hand off his motorcycle's handlebar while desperately trying to keep his balance. "Draw!"

The moment the card hit his hand, he shoved it into place and immediately grabbed the handle again, his bike wobbling slightly before stabilizing.

Before he could say anything else.

"During the Standby Phase," Yumi said calmly, "Dragonmaid Sheou lets me Special Summon a Level 9 or lower Dragon from my hand or Graveyard."

A card popped out from Yumi's Graveyard.

"Come back, Dragonmaid Ernus."

The familiar pink-scaled dragon reappeared beside Yumi, her gentle frame contrasting sharply with the absurd attack power she carried.

[Dragonmaid Ernus, 2600 ATK]

Seeing that there are now four powerful monsters on the opponent field, the four members of Doma grew tense.

Alister's breath hitched. The pressure on the field was immediate, almost suffocating. He swallowed hard and forced his attention back to his hand, trying to calm his racing thoughts while also not crashing his motorcycle.

"Quick-Play Spell," Yumi said suddenly.

Alister's head snapped up. The face-down card on Yumi's field flipped open.

"Mischief of the Time Goddess. Skip straight to my next Battle Phase."

Doma: "..."

Time shifted, skipping through all four of their turn and jumped right into Yumi's next Battle Phase.

"Ernus. Dark Law," Yumi said. "Attack that cropped-top femboy."

"The fuc-"

Alister never finished the sentence.

Ernus slashed forward with a heavy swing of her claw, and in the same instant, Dark Law closed the distance and delivered a brutal kick.

The man who, for reasons known only to himself, wore a cropped top while riding a motorcycle was sent flying off his bike, tumbling across the asphalt before crashing hard.

[Alister, LP 4000 -> 1400 -> 0]

Valon yelled out instinctively, glancing back just in time to see Alister's body skidding along the road before disappearing from view.

His grip tightened. Then he looked forward again.

And saw Yumi tilt his head slightly… toward Mai.

Valon's eyes widened. But before he could even open his mouth.

"Sheou. Stardust Spark," Yumi said, suddenly pointing in a different direction. "Attack that juvenile brat."

Valon: "!!!?"

Wait a minute!? Weren't you looking at her just a few seconds ago!? Why did you attack me instead!?

He didn't get the chance to react.

Sheou dove forward, wings cutting through the air, while Stardust Spark released a burst of shimmering starlight. The combined strike sent Valon flying off his motorcycle, his body rolling violently as his bike spun out beside him.

[Valon, LP 4000 -> 500 -> 0]

"I banish Blade Graveyard from my Graveyard," Yumi said, completely unfazed. The card vanished into golden particles. "This lets me add a card from the Graveyard to my hand."

A card rose from his grave, and he didn't hesitate.

"Quick-Play Spell. Mischief of the Time Goddess! Skip to my next Battle Phase!"

Time lurched forward again.

Rafael and Mai both went pale.

"Dark Law. Stardust Spark," Yumi continued, pointing directly at Rafael. "Attack Atem's First Blood."

"Who the hell is Atem!?" Rafael shouted, a mix of confusion, disbelief, and pure fear.

It didn't matter.

Stardust Spark fired its brilliant breath attack straight at him, and before Rafael could even process what was happening, Dark Law closed in and kicked him clean off his bike.

[Rafael, LP 4000 -> 1600 -> 0]

The muscular blond rolled across the road, joining the growing pile of people who learned the hard way that playing a card game on a motorcycle was a bad idea.

Yumi's glowing golden eyes shifted. Locking onto Mai, her breath hitched.

Fear crawled up her spine, her hands shaking as her bike began to wobble. The way this duelist in red tore through her teammates, one by one, dragged up memories she didn't want to revisit in Battle City. The helplessness. The realization that she was outmatched.

"I-I su-" Mai tried to say.

"Ernus. Sheou," Yumi cut in flatly. "Attack that unimportant side character."

The words hit harder than they should have, turning into an arrow that stabbed into her chest.

Ernus and Sheou lunged forward together, their attack overwhelming and immediate, knocking Mai straight off her motorcycle.

[Mai, LP 4000 -> 1400 -> 0]

She crashed just like the rest of them.

Yumi didn't look back.

His monsters faded one by one as he returned his full attention to the road ahead, the wind rushing past as he continued riding forward.

Yumi exhales slowly, finally letting his shoulders relax after pulling off a clean One-Turn-Four-Kill.

One reason he went that hard was simple: he didn't have time to play around. He still needed to get back to his own dimension, make use of the three God Cards, and personally beat the living hell out of that DIO-voiced bastard for trying to kill his friend.

The second reason was even simpler.

None of those four were main characters.

Which meant no plot armor. No miracle Kuriboh jumping in at the last second. No dramatic speeches about friendship, bonds, or the heart of the cards to magically reverse a losing duel.

Yumi slowed his D-Wheel and stopped a good distance away from the crash site. He stepped off, boots hitting solid ground, and finally turned his attention to the three God Cards now in his possession.

He stared at them for a moment.

"Chaos," he commanded.

Chaos responded instantly, tearing open a jagged rift in space in front of him.

Yumi drove straight into it and immediately felt a sharp, burning pain rip through his left hand.

"Tch."

He canceled the dimensional jump mid-transition and stumbled back, his gaze snapping down to his hand.

Seeing fresh, warm blood dripping down. It splashed onto the red surface of Slifer the Sky Dragon's card, staining it slightly.

Yumi narrowed his eyes.

"So that's why Paradox didn't go after the God Cards," he muttered.

The answer was obvious now.

The Egyptian God Cards weren't just powerful; they were anchored. More powerful than any ordinary Duel Monsters card, they could only be wielded by duelists they acknowledged. They were tied to Atem's memories, to the Ultimate Shadow Game, to the Memory World itself.

Their power was so overwhelming that they simply couldn't be dragged out of their own timeline or dimension.

Yumi stared at the cards for another second, then scoffed.

"Well. That was a waste of time."

He looked genuinely annoyed now, even briefly considering just throwing the three useless gods away and being done with it.

Instead, he shoved them back into his pocket. Then he pulled out The Eye of Timaeus.

"Locate this world's version of you." Yumi said flatly.

From within the card, the dragon let out a deep roar.

The response was immediate.

Elsewhere across the world, the other Legendary Dragons reacted all at once. Timaeus. Hermos. Critias. Confusion rippled through them as they sensed a presence identical to one of their own.

Nurse Dragonmaid appeared beside Yumi without being summoned, already wrapping bandages around his injured hand with efficiency.

"Thanks," he muttered, flexing his fingers once the bleeding stopped.

Guided by Timaeus, Yumi reactivate his D-Wheel and rode off.

After some distance, he slowed to a stop in front of a parked RV. Standing outside were Yugi and his group.

All of them were staring directly at him.

The tension was immediate. An unknown duelist dressed in red, riding a D-Wheel that looked like Kaiba Corp tech with the color palette violently changed. Yugi and Joey could both feel it, their dragons stirring, roaring faintly inside their cards.

Timaeus and Hermos were on edge.

Yugi locked eyes with Yumi.

"Nameless Pharaoh," Yumi said casually, causing Atem to surface instantly.

The Pharaoh stepped forward, his expression serious, but before he could speak, Yumi raised three cards of Red, Yellow, and Blue. The God Cards.

"Here," Yumi said coldly, tossing them onto the ground. "I don't need these useless trashes."

The cards hit the dirty pavement.

They roared in fury, their divine presence flaring outward, clearly enraged at being discarded so casually.

Atem, Yugi, and Joey could all feel it while Yumi looked down at them, unimpressed.

"Did I stutter?" he continued. "Cards that I can't use and refuse to listen to me are just useless trash. Doesn't matter how strong you are. If you're useless, then you're useless."

He turned away without another glance, his hand gripping the handle of his D-Wheel.

"Hey, wait!" Atem called out, running toward him. He still has questions. Too many questions.

But Yumi didn't stop.

Already irritated by how much time he'd wasted on this entire mess, he drove straight into the rift Chaos opened in front of him, disappearing before the rift snapped shut.
