Chapter 354 - Vacation at Last?

"Vacation at Last?"

A week had passed.

Of course, the last few days of classes had been canceled. After all, without a school, it was pretty obvious.

Final grades had also been canceled.

According to a written rule, when your school is destroyed, no matter how bad of a student you were or how poorly you did that year, you automatically pass to the next grade.

Though in reality, it did not affect Draco and Harry very much, since being champions automatically exempted them from final exams.

Only Hermione seemed fairly upset, since she had studied so hard preparing to try and earn the highest grade without Harry and Draco ahead of her, and in the end it had all been for nothing.

And Daphne was equally annoyed about having had to study at all.

If she had known the school was going to be destroyed, she would not have bothered putting in any effort.

Harry slowly opened his eyes.

He had woken up on a wonderful day.

Another peaceful and comfortable day enjoying his summer vacation.

Just like the entire week.

Without any nuisance or problem jumping out to ruin his well deserved rest after a year spent in a competition that had not exactly been brutal, but had certainly been quite annoying.

Though, to be honest, he could not say he had not enjoyed it.

Harry's gaze moved toward the small cup sitting on his desk.

Though it was somewhat smaller than the original Triwizard Tournament trophy.

Well, the Six Wizard Tournament trophy.

Since he had ended up sharing the victory with Draco and Luciel.

Although Luciel refused to count himself as a winner, since he had only entered the competition for fun and to have the chance to fight Harry or Draco.

And ended up winning something much better.

A wife.

But Draco and Harry obviously were not about to let either of them take sole victory, so it was either compete again or split the prize in two.

And before they could come up with one of their particularly ridiculous competitions, one that even Daphne seemed interested in participating in, Sirius immediately split the trophy in half and declared both of them co champions of the tournament.

Since they were from the same school, there was no need for any more competition.

Even the argument that Hogwarts could not possibly be destroyed any more than it already was did not seem to convince Sirius.

So Harry and Draco had no choice but to accept.

Though neither of them appeared willing to admit the matter was truly over.

Today should be another peaceful day.

It should.

Until he heard a voice coming from downstairs.

A very familiar French voice.

Harry frowned slightly, since it was not a voice he would normally hear in his dining room this early in the morning.

Harry immediately sat up.

He already had a fairly good suspicion about who it might be.

...

It took him a moment to head downstairs, since he needed to make himself presentable if there were guests.

Even so, when he arrived in the main living room, the first thing he found was his mother, Wanda, sitting calmly while drinking tea and petting a strange black cat that seemed to release black smoke from its fur.

Then, of course, his younger brothers, Billy and Tommy, who were sitting nearby.

Terra, who was resting on top of Billy's head while eating a few grapes.

And Dee, curled up asleep on a table.

And in front of them.

Sitting as though she belonged there, casually chatting with his mother, was Fleur.

The moment she saw Harry, Fleur turned her gaze toward him and gave him a gentle smile.

Very similar to the one she had given him the last time they said goodbye and she supposedly returned to France.

Though, to be honest, Harry had fully expected this already.

So he was not particularly surprised.

"Bonjour, Harry," she said in that amused tone of hers.

"Wow, only being able to last a week without seeing me must have been incredibly painful," was the first thing that came out of Harry's mouth as he gave her a rather shameless grin.

Fleur's smile almost broke.

Almost.

Because she immediately held it together and said:

"Actually, I was worried."

"Worried?" Harry said, raising an eyebrow.

"I thought you would start crying like a little child if you went too long without seeing me," she said while gently resting her chin on her hand and looking at Harry with a smile as sweet as honey.

This time it was Harry's turn to almost lose his smile upon hearing the words little child from the veela yet again.

Meanwhile, both Billy and Tommy were looking back and forth between Harry and Fleur with interest and amusement while struggling not to laugh.

As for Wanda, she simply watched the exchange while holding her teacup and said absolutely nothing.

She only wore a smile while lightly shaking her head.

"So that's your excuse for showing up at my house first thing in the morning after being separated from me for a whole week?" Harry asked while looking at her teasingly.

Fleur was about to answer, but Tommy interrupted.

"Fleur moved in across the street."

Fleur turned to look at the little snitch.

But Harry already had an amused smile on his lips that only seemed to grow wider.

"Oh, really?" he said, sounding slightly arrogant. "Mom, maybe we should hire private security. Miss Stalker might be planning something evil," Harry said, recalling one of the many nicknames he had given Fleur besides villainess.

"Personally, I think Fleur is a delightful neighbor," Wanda added easily.

Fleur quickly cleared her throat.

"It's not what you're thinking. I wanted to improve my English, and my mother found me a good place to stay. I didn't know you lived here until I met Professor Maximoff," Fleur tried to defend herself.

But at this point it was obvious that was not going to help very much.

Especially against Harry.

Harry did not say much.

He simply kept smiling while staring at her.

That smile Fleur knew very well.

She could not help pressing her lips together in mild annoyance and looking away.

Because part of what she said was true...

A very small part.

Though she failed to notice that Harry's smile was not nearly as mocking as she thought.

Instead, there was a distinctly happy atmosphere around him, something Wanda and his brothers could see quite easily.

Before either of them could continue, as always, with the flirtatious battle they constantly seemed to have, a noticeable noise came from the backyard, causing everyone to look toward the large glass doors.

There they spotted someone familiar.

It was Red.

Who had just landed in the garden.

His gaze swept across the familiar surroundings until it found everyone inside the house.

Then, without hesitation, he charged toward them at full speed.

Of course, Wanda lightly moved her hand before the foolish dragon could crash into the glass, opening the doors for him.

The foolish dragon, looking extremely excited, ran into the living room and headed directly toward Fleur.

Then he puffed out his chest proudly while looking at Harry, standing beside her like a royal guard.

Fleur, seeing Red arrive, could not help wearing a tired expression.

"Besides, I also came to return your dragon. For some reason he followed me all the way to France without me realizing it. My mother actually threw me out because of him," she added irritably.

Though whenever she looked at Red's stupid face, she could not help feeling her annoyance fade away.

"Ah. So that's where you were," Harry said casually to Red, as though he genuinely did not care where his family's foolish red dragon had ended up.

Meanwhile, Red continued puffing out his chest proudly, as if expecting recognition for protecting his queen even on another continent, exactly as a royal guard should.

Apparently Red had taken Harry's order to protect her during the tournament far too seriously.

And of course, Harry had forgotten to revoke that order.

Harry looked at Red.

Then he looked at Fleur.

Then he looked back at Red.

"You know what? I'm not going to ask."

Red continued puffing out his chest proudly.

As if he had just completed an important diplomatic mission instead of spending an entire week terrorizing a mansion in France.

And besides, because he found the whole thing rather amusing, Harry had absolutely no intention of telling Red to stop.

End of Season.

And the beginning of the next season is in the next chapter.
