Chapter 328 - The Final Trial P8

The Final Trial P8

…When a wave of red energy suddenly stopped it.

And suddenly, a flash of crimson flames released a slash of fire that cut through both the golden hand and the red magic, while a huge section of the labyrinth was split open down the middle.

Moments earlier:

Harry looked at his friends calmly with a with a faint mocking smile when a cold gust of wind moved his hair.

Harry barely tilted his head back right when two spears rose from the ground at high speed, crossing into an X right in front of his nose. The spears crashed against each other, releasing dust and small golden sparks. Harry narrowed his eyes a little so none of it would get into them, while at the same time leaning to the side again just as a silver sword brushed extremely close to his cheek, held in Luciel's hand as he engulfed in fire and smoke.

"So it'll be both of you then," Harry said calmly.

And Luciel didn't notice when it happened, but Harry already had a strange cylinder in his hand, one that looked slightly cracked and trembling faintly.

Harry simply made a gesture and the cylinder disappeared, instantly appearing right in front of Luciel's chest. Luciel's eyes widened slightly since he hadn't seen what Harry did to move it before it appeared there.

But he also sensed great danger from that object.

So he quickly moved, trying to jump backward. But before he could, the cracks in the object suddenly widened and a massive explosion instantly consumed him.

His body was sent flying backward, covered in fire and smoke. But Luciel twisted in the air, adjusting his fall so he landed on his feet, softening the impact by dropping to one knee while sliding across the ground.

When his body finally stopped, he touched his chest, aching and burned in several places. But when he touched his chest, he realized something hard was breaking apart, so he lowered his gaze and noticed solid gold forming a plate falling to the ground in fragments, which had protected him from most of the damage.

Luciel quickly looked toward Draco, who simply glanced away from him before turning his attention back to Harry.

But the moment Draco looked toward his friend, without warning he saw another one of those cylinders flying toward his face, almost as if it had teleported right in front of him.

Draco quickly moved his hand and liquid gold rose from the ground beneath his feet, creating a golden shield right as the cylinder exploded.

The shield endured the explosion, though several cracks appeared, even if they quickly regenerated.

Draco raised both hands and instantly two more shields protected his left and right just as two more cylinders appeared and exploded in an even larger blast.

Meanwhile the center shield turned into liquid gold before transforming into a dozen daggers that pointed toward Harry and shot directly at him.

Without moving, Harry simply threw the cylinder he had just prepared, embedding one of the golem eyes to activate the explosion before casually tossing it in front of himself.

Right as the daggers arrived, it exploded, sending them flying in different directions.

And suddenly, from inside the smoke and flames, something pierced through everything at high speed.

An enormous spear of solid gold.

Draco, who already had his wand back in his hand, pointed toward the spear.

"Geminio!" he instantly shouted.

And the spear rapidly split apart.

Harry barely smiled and was about to throw another cylinder he had in his hand. But His smile faltered slightly when two more spears emerged from the ground at his sides. And at the same time Luciel, who hadn't stayed still, moved at high speed and appeared behind Harry, slashing toward him with his sword.

Harry's smile widened slightly while he embedded the eye into the cylinder in his hand, activating the golem core to explode, and opened his hand to drop it directly before his body transformed into red mist and spread apart, disappearing from his spot.

Luciel saw this and quickly clicked his tongue while activating the runes on his boots and forcefully pushing himself backward, shooting backward like a silver flash and barely escaping the explosion, which once again sent the golden spears flying in different directions. After being struck by the massive blast, the Geminio spell broke apart.

But Draco was attentively watching the red mist, following it with his eyes.

And he raised a finger just as the blade of a sword suddenly shot out of the ground, stopping its advance and forcing Harry to dodge the attack before returning to his normal form several meters away while brushing invisible dust off himself.

But he instantly moved both arms and threw two cylinders directly toward Draco.

But two golden arrows burst out from the ground and pierced through them, making them explode midway.

"Are you going to keep playing around or are you finally going to take this seriously?" Draco asked in a fairly annoyed tone, because Harry clearly didn't seem serious about this.

"Oh, well. Those were the last ones. I just wanted to use them; I don't want them exploding in my pockets," Harry said with an amused expression. "So then… are we done playing?" he calmly asked, as if he wasn't responsible for the disaster around them.

And from that moment on, none of the three seemed to truly be smiling anymore.

Draco rolled his eyes, but at the same time, with a wand in one hand while calmly moving the other, the gold buried underground forming his control area began rising from several cracks, moving like a river of gold directly toward Draco while starting to form a small golden vortex around him several meters wide.

Meanwhile Luciel, who was behind Harry, couldn't help but show a somewhat forced smile.

"Yeah. That guy was holding back a lot too," he said.

But his smile slowly faded while his expression turned completely serious. Even his breathing started becoming slower and quieter, as if he were removing every unnecessary movement from his body while standing in a fast attack stance facing Harry.

The atmosphere around both Draco and Luciel completely changed.

Luciel moved first.

He lowered his stance slightly and the runes on his boots glowed intensely while the muscles in his legs seemed to contain explosive force.

His body shot forward at a speed where only a silver flash remained cutting through the air. The sound of his sword slicing through the wind echoed as he closed in on Harry.

Harry seemed to stop playing around and his smile almost completely disappeared while the red aura spread through his body. He barely lifted one finger and the ground beneath him rose like a giant hand of earth, trapping Luciel, who appeared right there.

But Luciel slashed with his sword, cutting through the enormous hand, and prepared to strike again. But Harry wasn't behind it anymore. Instead, he instantly appeared directly below him, pointing both hands toward Luciel's stomach.

And he made an upward throwing motion.

Instantly Luciel's body was seized by the red aura of Harry's magic and sent flying into the sky.

At the same time Harry instantly turned around and another wall of earth rose up, except this one transformed into solid stone, while the gold surrounding Draco created two enormous swords that attacked from both sides, only to be stopped by the rock that seemed even harder than metal.

Harry barely placed his hand against the wall and from the center on the other side, the face of a dragon formed, looking far too real, as if it were truly alive inside the wall, before opening its mouth.

Then a blood red blaze exploded from the dragon's mouth directly toward Draco.

Draco's eyes widened slightly, but he quickly moved both arms.

And the gold surrounding him rose over his body, spinning even faster and creating a dome of liquid gold that directly endured the flames. Even so, the heat was so absurd that even the liquid gold began deforming, making sweat instantly cover his face.

And just as the dome fully covered him, it grabbed him and dragged him underground while the flames continued forward and burned the labyrinth walls behind Draco, causing half of it to instantly catch fire, drying out all the hedges it was made from.

Harry, noticing this, moved his hand and canceled the fire, extinguishing the flames before they consumed the entire labyrinth, becoming slightly nervous about the animals that might be nearby, hoping nothing had happened to them.

But he didn't have much time to worry about that because without warning, the pit where Draco had hidden suddenly began spewing gold in a torrent, as if it were directly connected to an actual gold mine.

As it emerged, it began solidifying almost instantly, forming a gigantic golden hand at least ten meters tall, as if a buried giant were trying to claw its way out from underground.

Even Harry couldn't help but marvel for a moment at his best friend's power.

Which, by the way, was magic Draco had created from scratch with a little help from Harry and their elders, just to catch up to him.

An almost childish excitement appeared in Harry's eyes for a brief instant.

While his chaos magic aura surrounded them and several strands of his hair turned red for a moment, the enormous golden hand came crashing down toward him to crush him.

Then Harry raised one hand and simply stopped it with his telekinesis, causing it to freeze there while trembling violently as if trying to keep pushing forward.

But Harry had a slight smile when he noticed something seemed to be falling from the sky, realizing it was Luciel, whom he had thrown upward just to annoy him.

"Fiendfyre," Luciel recited.

The Fiendfyre instantly erupted from the tip of his sword as if it wanted to devour absolutely everything around it. Luciel lowered his sword as if making a slash while the Fiendfyre flames descended from the sky, while Luciel's sword itself began heating to absurd temperatures until it turned completely red.

Harry raised his other hand to extinguish the Fiendfyre, which could become extremely problematic if it spread and burned something, trapping it with his other hand.

But Luciel kept falling onto the solid gold hand and with his red hot sword slashed downward, cutting the hand in half before using that same hand as footing to launch himself with his legs directly toward Harry.

Both of Harry's hands were occupied.

Harry noticed this and barely smiled.

And he released both things like it was nothing while his body transformed into red mist.

But by doing that, both attacks crashed directly into the labyrinth, which shook violently while Luciel's Fiendfyre instantly began burning everything.

Meanwhile, in the stands, nobody reacted for several seconds. The display of magic from those three psychopaths was completely ridiculous.

People stared at the destroyed battlefield without knowing how to react to the monstrous display of magic they had just witnessed.

"Haaaa…" Hermione held her forehead with an exhausted expression while remembering that two of those monsters were her childhood friends.

Meanwhile Daphne was shouting both excited and annoyed because they hadn't let her participate, wanting to jump into the arena herself and join the chaos they were causing during the final trial, which was supposedly meant to just be a race, not a fight to the death against their own friends.
