"Don't you know? I'm someone she admires." Ophelia boldly said. "And someone has to teach her about the duties of a Luna. You don't think you're suitable for the job, do you?" She released Lilah's head and simply wrapped her arm around her shoulder.
"I know, but..."
"No excuses, Alpha," Ophelia cut him short, sounding serious now. "I've trained to be Luna for a really long time, so I'm the only one who can help her. Don't you want her to stand on her own two feet in the pack? Do you want her to always rely on you? If you brought back a wife you plan to keep on a shelf, then I won't interfere, but if you brought back a wife that you want to be recognized in this pack, then you have to let loose a bit for not just you, but her and the pack's good."
Kael knew this clearly, but he wasn't ready to burden Lilah yet. He wanted her to feel relaxed, live while only worrying about what to eat.
He wanted to treat her like an egg for a while before letting her hatch.
