Chapter 8 - 7

I want to clear everything up, and before that, I have to ask Butler Enrod. I don't know if what I dreamed was real. I want some answers.

While I was lying on my bed, someone suddenly knocked on my door, making me sit up.

"Madam," I heard Butler Enrod call me.

I smiled. Butler Enrod's timing is really perfect. He entered and bowed to me.

"Madam, you have to drink this medicine prescribed by your doctor," he said.

I frowned at what I heard.

"Ah… Butler Enrod," I said shyly.

"Yes, Madam?"

"Do you know how I came—" I wasn't able to finish as Butler Enrod suddenly covered my mouth.

"Madam! Don't say that or someone might hear you," he said seriously.

I nodded as my heart started beating faster. He let go and adjusted his glasses.

"I can't tell you everything for now, as your doctor instructed us, Madam." He looked at me emotionlessly. "But I can provide a little bit of information for you, Madam."

"We found you beside the street, Madam. You were badly injured," he said while avoiding my gaze.

I couldn't speak after hearing what he said.

That means my dream was real. But why is my body different now? And what does 'badly injured' mean—when in fact I was stabbed by a man I didn't even know? What is the truth here? What Sanny Bels said? My dream? Or the story I read before I died?

"The doctor gave you medicine to help restore your original face, Madam," Butler Enrod added.

"Enrod," I heard a familiar voice call, making my eyes widen.

"Sire!" Butler exclaimed in surprise and turned to the door—so I looked too.

He was standing at my door, both hands in his pants pockets. He looked at us with a blank expression.

"That's enough," he said.

"I apologize, Sire," Butler Enrod said, then looked at me and smiled before exiting my room.

I just stared at Zion as he entered and closed the door behind him.

He muttered, "You're really something."

"If I didn't own a laboratory research facility in my company, I might not have saved you, you know," he said coldly.

"C-Can you tell me?" I asked softly.

I was sure he could hear me.

"I know you have many questions, but for now, I'll just confirm a bit of what Enrod already told you."

He was now standing in front of me. I could feel my heart pounding fast as I waited for what he would say.

"We don't know who you are, but I have intel that you were related to Carlo Ville," he said.

Well, according to Sanny Bels, he was my ex.

"Anyway, all we know is that your face and body changed when my men treated you. Since you're not fully healed yet and I still have to investigate Carlo Ville, you'll stay under my care for now," he said.

I was speechless after hearing that. What did I even get myself into? Is this really the story of My Lily?

"As for your IDs and other documents, once your face is fully healed, we can change your ID back again." He added, "Drink the medicine Enrod gave you."

I nodded. I still had questions—like why I had to drink medicine to regain my original face—but I'll save those for another time.

"If you don't have any more questions, I'll leave," he said.

I didn't respond as he exited my room.

So my dream was real! Ally Cole-Cartridge and I have the same face and events—both in this world and my past life!

I remembered the bag, so I rummaged through it and saw IDs with a different face—one that matched my current appearance.

But Zion said I'm not completely healed yet, so my body changed color and I had baby cheeks! So this is the effect of the medicine.

I looked at the table not far from my bed and saw the medicine Butler gave me earlier, before I asked him questions.

I hesitated to drink it and suddenly breathed deeply, wondering who my doctor really was. Zion said his men—but who exactly?

I went to the bathroom and stared at my face. My eyes widened because it was true—my original face before I died was slowly coming back! My baby fat cheeks were starting to fade.

Why is Zion's medicine so powerful? What really happened to me—or to this person? Do we share the same world, or is this the parallel world the elders talk about?

I shook my head. Anyway, they said Carlo Ville—the male lead of My Lily—is connected to what's happening to me.

"Madam, here's your dinner," Butler Enrod suddenly said, so I stepped out of the bathroom.

"Butler… I could've just eaten dinner in the dining area," I said.

Butler Enrod chuckled softly and placed the tray full of food on the glass table.

"It's okay, Madam. Sire ordered the helpers to move out of the main mansion to the helpers' building," he said.

I frowned at what he said.

"Why, Butler Enrod?" I asked.

"As your face starts to heal, maybe there's a rat among us, Madam. Carlo Ville's people are everywhere," he said.

My eyes widened. Is this because of me? I think Butler Enrod guessed what I was thinking because he spoke again.

"It's not because of you, Madam. Sire and Carlo Ville have had a rivalry since they were young. Carlo heard Sire was getting married, but he didn't know it was you, so we have to be cautious for now," he explained.

I nodded. After finishing his task, Butler Enrod excused himself and left, so I was alone again in my room.

While eating, I was already thinking about what I needed to do.

I guess Zion Cartridge is not a bad person after all. Even though I'm still confused about why I need to drink medicine to return to my old face, I think all of this is connected to Carlo Ville.

If only some fairy, deity, or whoever could answer my questions about why I came to this world—which I thought was only an online novel, but turns out to be a real one.

Zion saved me from death, so I'll help him in whatever way I can. My dream was real, so now I can finally understand something:

That me and Ally Cole-Cartridge are somehow connected.
