Chapter 26 - The Truth of Hell

Evening fell.

The sky glowed in a burnt amber as torches were lit across the Demon Slayer HQ.

All Hashiras stood tall.

Tanjiro, Zenitsu, Inosuke, Genya, and the younger Slayers sat on the stone benches.

The Kakushi stood quietly at the back.

Even the Upper Ranks, now allies—Akaza, Doma, Kokushibo, Nakime, Hantengu, and Muzan himself—stood in the shadows, visible but subdued by the Slayer's commanding presence.

The Doom Slayer stepped onto the raised platform. No helmet. No weapons. Just his armor and that haunting, empty stare.

No formalities. No titles.Just truth.

"My Earth is gone."

His voice rolled out like steel dragged across the ground.

"Burned. Eaten. Twisted."

"It began like here… myths, whispers, stories about demons. Then the veil broke."

He paced slowly across the platform.

"Portals opened. Not one. Hundreds. Cities burned. Skies turned red."

"We fought back. Guns. Bombs. Nukes. Nothing mattered."

"They don't die like you expect. You can cut them. Blow them up. They reform. Over and over."

"They exist to suffer… and make others suffer."

The Dark Lord

The Slayer's voice dropped lower.

"At the top of it all… is Him."

"The Dark Lord. Not a king. Not a demon. A god made from hatred itself."

"He rules Hell. Commands it. Controls the soul stream of the damned."

"I faced him once. Killed him."

He looked out at the crowd.

"But evil doesn't stay dead."

"He's rebuilding. Piece by piece. And now... someone from this world opened a path again."

Shinobu

She stepped forward calmly.

"If they come again, what… exactly are we up against?"

The Slayer turned to her.

"Demons that don't burn in sunlight. That don't bleed like you expect."

"They have no fear of death. Because they are already dead."

"They take over your mind. Twist your body. Turn children into monsters. They infect, consume, spread."

"If a portal fully opens… your world ends."

Giyu

"Then why are you fighting still?"

Slayer paused… then answered.

"To Rip and Tear every last one of them till they beg and get crushed"

"And here I thought I was horrifying." Doma said.

Muzan stepped forward.

Calm. Measured.

"You've fought hell itself. Faced gods. Killed the Dark Lord."

He tilted his head.

"Then… what are you?"

Everyone froze. Even breathing halted.

The Slayer looked at Muzan. His eyes like iron behind fire.

"I am what happens…"

"…when fear stops working."

Silence.

"I don't need a throne. I don't need power. I don't need mercy."

"I am rage. I am vengeance. I am the wall between your world and theirs."

He stepped off the platform.

The demons were silent. Not because they feared death—but because they now feared something worse.

The Hashiras trained harder than they ever had.

Even Muzan… felt something he hadn't in over a thousand years.

Doubt.
