Chapter 8 - CHAPTER 1 (3/5)

As Luskgavl made his way to the mansion, he prepared a room for his mother while taking a brief bath. His mother, dressed in comfortable sleepwear, settled down in a chair in the kitchen. Luskgavl noticed her from a distance and descended the stairs to join her.

"Mother, it's already night. It's time to rest," he said as he sat beside her. "Regarding our plans, we'll execute them when the two 'chickboys' are free. For now, it's merely a plan. We'll focus on making effective decisions later."

His mother nodded in agreement. "I'm looking forward to the outcome, but I'll be back at Ghilo next week for work," she replied.

"Not yet, Mother. Perhaps you could call the director to assist with your work at Ghilo instead. Consider cancelling your flight; otherwise, our future plans might not succeed," Luskgavl suggested.

"But son..." she started to protest.

Luskgavl held her hand gently. "Trust us, Mother. This is the best way to distance you from Father. We can't hold back any longer—" Just then, Lockhart and his butler rushed into the house, quickly locking the door behind them.

"I couldn't sleep. Did I interrupt? What's the tea situation? I'd like to join," he said, settling down across from them while his butler stood quietly on the stairs, waiting for Lockhart's next move.

"You have an event at the Royal Palace tomorrow. It would be wise to rest now; tomorrow will likely be busy," Luskgavl advised, looking intently at him.

Lockhart waved dismissively and made a silly face. "Nah, I plan to show up late tomorrow. It's just that there are models everywhere, and I can't resist the attention from all those lovely ladies," he joked, playfully pretending to balance a bowl on his head.

"Lockhart, this is a serious conversation regarding our father," Luskgavl said, attempting to steer the discussion back on track.

Lockhart feigned shock. "Really? I had no idea. You should have told me before I started cracking jokes!" Luskgavl rolled his eyes in response, calling him a "chickboy," which made their mother laugh.

"I appreciate your outgoing nature, Lockhart. You have such a gift for communication and making friends," she said, smiling at him. Lockhart beamed back at her.

"That's important to me. I always try to treat everyone kindly," he replied.

Luskgavl chimed in, "Ahem. We need to discuss the plan once you and the other 'chickboy' (Lucksten) are available. I'm feeling quite sleepy now and have work tomorrow. Lockhart, if you wish to stay the night, feel free to share a room with Mother."

With that, Luskgavl excused himself, heading upstairs to his room while Lockhart and their mother remained in the kitchen. "We should get some rest now, Mom," Lockhart suggested gently.

"Alright, dear," she agreed, and they settled in for the night.
