Chapter 188 - Chapter 188: Everything Going According to Plan

"Sato!"

After opening the door, Sato saw Kanna standing in the entryway.

While lowering his head to change his shoes, he smiled and asked, "How did your first day of school feel?"

Kanna's eyes lit up. "I made a new friend!"

"Oh?"

Sato raised an eyebrow, then turned around, slipped his hands under Kanna's arms, lifted her up, and carried her inside.

"You already made a new friend on the first day, that's a great start!"

When they reached the living room, Sato set Kanna down on the sofa. After pouring himself a glass of water, he teased, "But if Ren-chan finds out, she'll probably be sad."

"I won't forget Ren-chan!"

Kanna said it with a serious expression.

Seeing how serious she looked, Sato could not help but smile.

After Hiratsuka Shizuka gave him the documents, Sato chose a fairly decent elementary school nearby and completed Kanna's enrollment. Today was also the start of her new semester.

As for going to and from school, Sato had already taken her to familiarize herself with the route before classes started, so he did not accompany her.

As for Kanna's safety...

She was, after all, an A-rank Electric Dragon. There were probably only a handful of people in all of Japan who could fight her. Rather than worrying about her being bullied, it made more sense to worry about her failing to control her own strength.

If Kanna really got angry, she could probably wipe out half of Chiba City.

Within the Hero Association, B-rank was referred to as Army-Breaking class, A-rank as City-Destroying class, and S-rank as Nation-Destroying class. In other words, under normal circumstances, if Kanna went all out, no one could stop her from destroying a city.

Of course, that was under ideal conditions. At the very least, in a place like Chiba City, where hidden talents lurked everywhere, that would not be possible.

After all, there were already three S-rank beings living in this very apartment building.

Kanna being able to make a friend on the first day was somewhat unexpected. Although bullying was rare in the lower grades of Japanese elementary schools, Kanna was still a transfer student and had already missed the best time to make friends.

Sato grew interested and asked, "Is that child a boy or a girl?"

"A girl?"

"What's her name?"

"Saikawa!" (Last Name)

"Saikawa, huh. What kind of child is she?"

"Mm..."

Kanna hesitated. After thinking about it, she still did not know how to describe her. After all, it was only their first day of contact.

Seeing this, Sato patted Kanna's head.

"If you don't understand yet, then get to know her better over time. What do you want for dinner tonight?"

"Curry rice!"

"Curry, huh..."

Sato got up and checked the refrigerator, only to find that the ingredients were almost used up.

"Kanna, I'm going to the shopping street to buy some things. Stay home and watch some TV."

"Okay!"

...

Right next to the residential area was a bustling shopping street. The nearby residents bought almost all their daily ingredients here, from fresh fish to vegetables, meat, and seasonings, everything was available.

Sato had been living in Tamayama Town for nearly half a year, so he was naturally familiar with everything on this street. After skillfully buying the ingredients needed for dinner, he was about to return to the apartment when someone suddenly tapped his shoulder lightly.

"Hm? Shouko?"

After turning around, Sato looked at the pink-haired girl standing before him with a cheerful smile, somewhat surprised. He glanced down at the basket in her hand.

"You're out buying groceries too?"

"Mm!"

Nishimiya Shouko nodded gently with a smile.

"Did you get everything?"

The girl shook her head, then took out a prepared list and waved it in front of Sato, pointing to the last item, ground pork.

Out of the corner of his eye, Sato glanced at the shopping street. His eyes suddenly lit up as if a thought had struck him. This seemed like a good opportunity.

Looking at the beads of sweat by Nishimiya Shouko's temples and her delicate face, he asked, "Shouko, are you hot?"

Nishimiya Shouko looked at him strangely and nodded. It was summer, of course it was hot...

Hot, huh? Good, being hot was perfect!

Sato smiled and said, "I'll treat you to ice cream. What flavor do you like?"

Nishimiya Shouko was startled, then waved her hand, indicating it was not necessary.

"It's fine, I was planning to buy some anyway. It's just ice cream, it won't cost much."

"And this is my goodwill, you wouldn't refuse, right?"

Nishimiya Shouko looked at Sato's serious expression, hesitated for a moment, then took out a pen and wrote "vanilla" on her shopping list.

"Alright, you go buy the ground pork first. I'll come find you after I get it."

Sato smiled and waved at Nishimiya Shouko. Without waiting for her response, he headed toward the cold drink shop on the shopping street.

Nishimiya Shouko looked at Sato's back, opened her mouth as if to say something, hesitated for a moment, then turned and walked toward the meat stall. There was a trace of confusion on her face.

Somehow, Nohara-kun seemed a little strange today.

After arriving at the cold drink shop, Sato bought two ice creams. He glanced around, then walked to the entrance of a relatively secluded alley.

With a thought, the universal medicine appeared in his hand.

It looked almost identical to an ordinary capsule, with a light blue and white coating. Sato glanced around once more, then quickly crushed the capsule and poured the powder inside onto the vanilla ice cream.

The white powder quickly blended into the ice cream upon contact.

That should do it!

A satisfied smile appeared on Sato's face.

"What are you... doing?!"

Suddenly, a voice with a strange tone sounded in front of him.

Startled, Sato looked up and realized it was Gabriel standing there. She was carrying several packaged boxes, likely takeout for dinner.

"You scared me to death!"

Sato let out a breath of relief.

"What are you doing?"

Gabriel looked at him suspiciously. She had witnessed the entire process just now.

"I just got a new kind of medicine. It should be able to cure Shouko's congenital defect."

"Huh? Then why not let me do it! I can use divine arts!"

Sato rolled his eyes. "Are you sure a fallen angel like you can use divine arts?!"

Gabriel: "..."

"Ahem, pretend I didn't say that!"

Gabriel gave an awkward laugh, then looked at him with surprise. "I didn't expect you to be such a kind person!"

"Kind person? That's not quite it."

Sato shrugged. "If Shouko weren't my friend, I wouldn't use this on a stranger."

"A truly kind person would be someone called an angel..."

Sato suddenly paused, glanced at Gabriel, and said, "Forget it, just pretend I never said that."

What kind of angel would, out of embarrassment and anger, want to pull out the Horn of Apocalypse and wipe out humanity...
